      The bedroom in my unit does not have a window, which I understand may be in violation of local building and fire codes that typically require a means of emergency egress and ventilation in all sleeping areas.

      In addition, the lack of ventilation has led to visible mold growth, which is negatively affecting my health and living conditions. I have brought this issue to my landlord’s attention, but no corrective action has been taken to resolve it.

      I was looking for housing. Came across West Virginia Property Management. Found an apartment and was instructed to pay an application fee and then i could schedule a viewing. Before i could view the apartment they took it off the market. So why did i have to pay a 45 fee before viewing the apartment when they planned to take it off the market. West Virginia Property Management stole the fee and refuse to refund

      The bottom of our application states that by completing the app, we do not owe the applicant a property. It also states that your application is good for 90 days if you miss out on your desired property. Your application can be applied to anything in our portfolio. In the specific case of this applicant, he applied and we scheduled a showing for him. He canceled his showing and in the meantime, the property leased to someone else. The rental market moves very quickly.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.



      They instructed me to pay the fee before i viewed the property. I should have been instructed to view the property and then pay an application fee of 45 usd. The way they do business sets people like me up and they know it. Why instruct me to pay a fee before i viewed the property?
