1 starFraudsters! When trying to cancel due to a canceled flight they make it nearly impossible to do so. Ph # on credit card transaction is a non-working number. After jumping through all the hoops they still say credit was processed but never appeared on my credit card. Had to file a transaction dispute to get a resolution. Terrible company. I will NEVER use them. *************** should not be using them either!Review fromTamra M

1 starI ******* *******. Clicked on first web site that came up for ******* and completed a purchase for travelers. 29 days later we decided to extend our trip and when I went to alter the travelers insurance found out it was some company called travel guard. They refused a refund only giving me a credit voucher. I feel duped with the bait and switch as well as no confidence in this company from the short interaction and unhelpful process to get help. I'm sure they will be much better if they have to actually pay out a claim.Review fromkurian v

1 starWould not recommend AIG Travel Guard Insurance. Due to an unstable fractured ankle due to an accident while on a cruise excursion my flight home from ****** to ******* was changed by AIG from a 9 hour direct flight to an 18 hour flight going through ********. Although I was upgraded from the main cabin to Business class the 18 hours was overwhelming. It also delayed me going home so I had 3 days in ****** in which AIG< I guess, expected me to stay in my hotel room as they would not reimburse for a motorized scooter so that I could leave the hotel and see some sights while there. Now I find out that they will not cover physical therapy. I necessity to a good recovery. When reviewing the Schedule of Benefits it lists that $2,000. per person is allowed for physical therapy, However, a few pages later it states that physical therapy is not covered. Deceptive advertising to me. Have another cruise planned in the future and I definitely will NOT use AIG. The chance that something may or may not happen is low in statistics. However, when something does happen and you feel that you will be okay because you have travel insurance. Huge disappointment. I am being left with a large amount of medical bills that I have to come up with the money to pay. For what they did pay I would have been better off not purchasing the insurance and using that money to pay my bills.Review fromSabrina C

Coverage decisions are made according to the terms and conditions of the Policy of Insurance. Your claim was properly adjudicated as the reason presented for the claim (trip cancellation due to an event being canceled) does not fall within one of the named, covered reasons insured under your policy. We understand you recently submitted an email identifying another potential reason for the claim, but have not submitted the additional required documentation to support the trip cancellation claim. A member from the claims team will be reaching out to discuss the additional documentation required to support the claim. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at **************.Review fromyarden p

1 starExtremely Disappointed Avoid This Travel Insurance Provider I purchased travel insurance expecting it to provide peace of mind in case something went wrong with my trip. Well, my flight was canceled due to the war-related conflict between Israel and Irana serious and unexpected situation completely outside of my control. I filed a claim, thinking this is exactly the type of situation insurance is meant to help with.Instead, I was denied coverage because "war or act of war" is excluded. So let me get this straight: I lost thousands of dollars, followed the proper claims process, and still got nothing back because of a technicality buried in the fine print? This company clearly designs its policies to collect premiums and dodge responsibility when customers actually need help. Their response was cold and dismissive, with zero compassion or attempt to assist in any way.If youre thinking about buying travel insurance from this companydont. When disaster strikes, they wont be there for you.Review fromJeffery W

1 star"Is travel insurance a waste of money?
Just another expense, right? Wrong. A travel insurance plan can cover you for unexpected costs incurred before or during your trip so that expenses can be less likely to come out of your own pocket. A travel insurance plan from Travel Guard helps to protect your trip investment with coverages like trip cancellation and interruption, medical expense and evacuation, lost or delayed baggage and more.
As a bonus - most travel insurance plans also include 24/7 emergency assistance services to re-book flights and hotels on your behalf and act as a personal travel assistant while you are away from home."
All of this is lie. There isn't even enough details about the so called "terms and conditions" when making the purchase only after when you get the email saying you have travel insurance. I spent over 1K for flight tickets got stranded in ******* and had to rent a car to get home. I missed the event I booked for, once in a life time event to support a veteran. I only got 10% of what I spent. ******** ******** ******* me and then AIG came behind and did more damage. This is why I don't fly to begin with. Now I'm stuck with credits from an Airline I don't even trust and behind bills because I put my faith in these guys. Don't bother people, what a waste.Travel Guard Group, Inc.

1 starIf I had the option to give a zero-star review, I would. This company is a fraud and WILL NOT pay out on your claim. They have several options on their website to select if you are unable to attend your trip the notify you that it's not an option listed within your coverage policy. You can submit several appeals, and they will still find every excuse in the book to deny your claim. Be aware when you deny for medical reasons. Some of the claim adjusters will commit a Federal crime by contacting your medical provider without proper documentation or consent. I have reported them to the ***** violations department. They have no intention on paying out on your claim and the extra money that you spend to protect your trip is a total waste of money. I recommend purchasing separate with ***************. They will not go back and forth with you about ridiculous nonsense and will immediately pay out on your claim as long as you present proper documentation that is a listed benefit within your coverage policy. I will never use this company again.Review fromLarry M

1 starDisappointed with Rental Car Coverage and Claim Handling I purchased an AIG Travel Guard policy to cover rental vehicle damage, expecting comprehensive protection. While they did pay for basic repairs and loss of use, AIG refused to reimburse a $150 administrative fee and excluded any compensation for diminished value—common charges in rental damage claims. The claims process was drawn out, with appeals handled through canned responses. Despite submitting legal references and policy analysis, AIG upheld its decision based on narrow exclusions I wasn’t made aware of at the time of purchase. I’m sharing this review so other travelers can carefully review all fine print before assuming coverage. This policy fell short of my expectations and did not protect me from out-of-pocket costs tied to a covered event.Travel Guard Group, Inc.

We understand how this would have been a frustrating experience for you. Coverage decisions are made in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in the Policy of Insurance. After a thorough review with our Claims Department, we can confirm that the claim was properly processed with a claims payment for the damage to the rental vehicle while in your possession. However, the policy does not provide coverage for diminishment of value or administrative fees charged by rental companies. 1 starI recently planned a hotel stay for a night in *** *****. I purchased the insurance policy just because I have had to cancel trips in the past. According to the policy I purchased, Trip Cancelation The Company will pay a benefit to reimburse the Insured for covered expenses up to the maximum limit shown in The Schedule or Declarations Page, if an Insured cancels his/her Trip due to any of the following Unforeseen events: (a) Death of the Insured, or a Family Member, Traveling Companion, or Business Partner; My former foster mother passed away, and her Celebration of Life will be held the weekend of my trip. Upon canceling the hotel and filing a claim, I am now not allowed to cancel for that reason. I have lost $268.05, which may not be a lot for some, but I am in my 60s and living on a fixed budget.Travel Guard Group, Inc.

We are sorry to hear of your loss. Coverage decisions are made according to the terms and conditions of the Policy of Insurance. Your claim was properly adjudicated as the reason presented for the claim (trip cancellation due to attending a celebration of life/funeral) does not fall within one of the named, covered reasons insured under your policy. Additionally, death of a friend or ****** mother would not qualify for coverage as these individuals do not fall within the policys definition of Family Member. Should you have any additional questions or concerns, please give us a call anytime at **************.
