1 starWe had a terrible experience with this company and would not recommend them to anyone. This company was hired in January 2023 for a small basement remodeling project that was supposed to be complete in March 2023. Over the subsequent NINE months, this company and its craftsman displayed atrocious communication regarding the project. Dozens of empty promises were made regarding when work would be started, completed, etc. Our ongoing communication attempts went largely unanswered by the company and its craftsman. After substantial lack of progress (virtually no progress) and ongoing concerns, in May 2023, the company agreed to and executed a contract amendment that included a financial penalty to be issued if the work was not completed by June 30, 2023, with additional penalties per week thereafter, and a full refund if the work was not completed by July 31, 2023. Despite our full commitment to the project and ongoing compliance with original contract and change order, as well as numerous good faith efforts to work with the company and craftsman to provide flexibility, project extensions and full availability, work was not complete by 7/31/23. Between execution of the change order in May 2023 and its expiration on 7/31, the craftsman was only on site for three total hours and no visible progress was made. We then made multiple attempts in writing and via certified mail to notify the company of the impending and then passed deadline and requested remittance of our refund. All communication went unanswered and we eventually had to file a small claims court suit in order to finally receive our refund in late September 2023. I will share that based on other reviews I have since found online, this does not appear to be a unique situation for this company. It was months of a nightmare experience where we were locked in a contract despite no work being completed and I feel very lucky that we were even able to get our money back in the end.Review fromRebecca D

5 starsI would highly recommend this company. From start to finish they have been professional, kind and competent. Even when the situation became more than expected ( when others would have said no way) they worked together and figured out how to make everything come together. I have never been more pleased. 5 starsWe were very happy with the work that A Fresh New Look did for us. I called about replacing the railing that leads up the steps to our front door, and Cody came out the same afternoon to look at it and within 24 hours gave us a quote. Once he cam out to complete the work, he was efficient, asked clarifying questions to make sure we were happy with what we were going to be getting and completed the work ahead of schedule. The workman was on time and came prepared for the job requirements. Mary jo, stephanie, cody & steve whom i have had dealt with & placed my trust into this company & the 2 co-workers above ( cody&steve) have done a few jobs w/out issue for me & my dad & promises made promises kept . A little on the pricey side but, good work ethic & well mannered employees & the jobs done , i was very happy with . I will be a repeat customer for future home improvment jobs. 5 starsThe team at Fresh Look is responsive and professional. I had a variety of handyman type projects that they took on with gusto, including a pretty difficult drywall job because my house was built in 1928 with a special kind of drywall. 1 starWe agreed to a remodel project with this company in August 2022 unaware that we would be dealing with a specific contractor. Our project was meant to begin the first week in December, but was delayed a week and a half. Our contract included some electrical work, but shortly after minimal demo had been done, our contractor suggested we hire an outside firm to do the electrical entirely. He also suggested we not file a permit for the construction work. When our chosen electrician and plumber advised permits and filed them themselves as is customary, the contractor asked that I (homeowner) file for my own construction permit without any support material - drawings, measurements, etc. This request is in total breach of contract. However, I obtained the permit after a considerable struggle to supply necessary, acceptable materials since I do not work in construction. Furthermore, the contractor took a week and a half to supply me with appropriate license numbers to secure the permit. From the start, the contractor made excuse after excuse for not working. First it was family issues. Then illness. Then car trouble. Than more illness. The a family vacation. This stalling spanned the rest of December, all of January and the beginning of February with very minimal work achieved. When the contractor would drop in, he would stay for a very short period of time, make little to no visible progress then leave. Other service providers have commented that his methods would not be their chosen methods, suggesting a lack in quality that a standard homeowner might not immediately recognize. We have made multiple calls to the business to speak with a supervisor, even requesting a supplemental ********* be supplied to us to meet our deadlines, but we have received no callbacks. None. After considerable investigation, our experience mirrors others relayed in reviews about this company suggesting the possibility of a scam.
