All ******* dealers (not just ******* Hyundai) use a false advertising model where they advertise prices lower than the competition, but add fees and other unrequested add-ons to the total prices that they refuse to remove. As per ********* state law, the only fees that cannot be included in the price of a vehicle are tax, title, registration, and service fee. However, when I requested to purchase a vehicle from ******* with a listed price of $11990, they said the total price would be $13991 -- a whopping $2001 more. ******* added a $500 security fee to the total price in addition to other fees. Now for another situation (just to show this wasn't a one-time event). I purchased a vehicle from ********************* last year. The price shown online was extremely low, so naturally, I took a look. However, when I want to purchase the vehicle, they added on several thousand dollars in fees. For example, they added fees for a tracker installed in the vehicle and coating the vehicle in a clear coat. Both of these are things I did not request and requested not to pay for. Since I was that far through the process and did not realize this was illegal, I continued on through the purchasing process. There was likely another $2k added to the total price of that vehicle (excluding tax). The salesman I explained this all to and showed the law to said that all dealers do this. However, I checked with several dealers since and they do not. Check with ******* in Hartford or International Autos of *********. I invite ******* to respond to this, but please check with the law first. Just because you have fees in your disclaimer does not mean you can legally add them.References:***********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************).

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

It appears that ******* Hyundai of Racine just copied and pasted that message as it does not touch on any of the concerns I raised. They neither acknowledged the problem, nor apologized.

      Regards,

Again, no information was provided in this response. If the business is able to justify their illegal pricing by citing written laws, I will accept. Until that point and until a genuine response is made by the business recognizing their flaw and apologizing, I will not accept their obviously prewritten responses.

      Regards,

I purchased a car in march of 2022 for ****** dollars.. i was told i was being sold a car with no problems but i soon discovered when they changed the battery when i first got the car they never provided me with a battery hold down kit so the car would cut off in traffic cut off when making turns so i reached out to them nothing was done this was a month in. 6 months later the catalytic converter went out they charged me to fix it twice then 2 months later the check engine light came back on.. they sold me a faulty car with issues and then blamed me for the issues and gave no type of sympathy or did nothing to make sure i had a car that was running and in good condition for ****** dollars which i believe was highway robbery.

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments and feelings about our dealership on the paid site of BBB. Even though your comments did not shine a positive light on our dealership, it is helpful to us in finding out where some of our weaknesses lie, whether in our personnel or our processes. We apologize for your experience and we appreciate your feedback. After reviewing your transaction over a year ago your paperwork shows that you declined any type of protection or warranties that were available at time of purchase. Your 2017 ***** Accord As your vehicle is now over 140k miles, that is 52k miles of driving in a little over a year, it is important to remember that there are certain maintenance items that will need to be attended to. These items are recommended by the manufacturer and will keep an old car thats been carefully maintained running well for decades even up to 1 million miles. ****** the maintenance schedule to the letter and check your fluids weekly, and it should serve you well for years to come.

We hope for a future opportunity to make this right for you. You may contact me anytime to voice your concerns.
