      I should have read previous reviews first before contacting Tall Pines for an urgent plumbing request for our renters at our cabin. Our septic needing jetting out roots. Plumber came and got the job done in 30 minutes. Charge $2800.00. High fee due to coming out Saturday evening around 7pm to meet an urgent need. Greatly appreciate the prompt support but I don’t think charging 2800.00 was a fair and just fee.

      I got an estimate from Tall Pines Plumbing to plumb my small 1 bedroom cabin in Oct. 2023. This cabin had been entirely plumbed with PEX 4 years ago for $1500 by a local plumber. (2 sinks, one shower and one toilet only). I needed it replumbed due to construction. Tall Pines estimate for the job was over $10,000. When I called and asked how much they charged per hour for labor he said they don't charge per hour. They charge for the job. When I asked how the price for the same job could be so different he said they send the job description to a web site and they use an algorythm to set the price without seeing the cabin. When I aked if he would come out and see that the job was much smaller than the estimate he declined and said he stood by the estimate. He listened to my whole rational and request quietly and patiently and when I was done just said he stands by the estimate. He did not address my complaint in any way. By the way, I also wanted a drain pipe placed from the kitchen sink to the back of the cabin (25 feet max, crawl space is 4 feet high). His estimate was $4,100 seperate charge from the plumbing. He would not discuss the unreasonably high charge. It seems to me he contracts these jobs out to local plumbers, pays them and keeps the rest. Pretty lucrative I'd say. F by the BBB by the way.

      One of the worst encounters I have had with a company in a long time. I got the estimate which was triple what I had expected. So I called to get an explanation of 1) why it was so high; 2) why at 9:22 they were already an hour late for said appointment, and 3) get a general idea of what was going to happen for the day. Fairly reasonable, I believe from a customer standpoint. The owner's son, Aaron, was NOT only rude and condescending that I would have the GALL to ask questions about his bid and that I should just take his word for it that was what it costs. When I finally reached the journeyman on his way, he had been driving an HOUR in the wrong direction- So now at 10:15, my 8:30 appointment wasn't happening until at least 11:30. At this point, I asked how we could pause this appointment. I called Aaron back and wanted just a bit more explanation on how this could have gone so wrong and I am flabbergasted at how he reacted. He asked me if I didn't want to pay $2110 for the job, would I want to pay $3000? I asked if it was trying to be funny??? He said that if I don't sign off on this job, the day of, he won't touch it. Then he ended the call by telling me I was too difficult, that I was being a *****, and that he was going to call the journeyman and cancel the appointment. Then HE HUNG UP ON ME! I do realize that there was a lot of communication from me on this subject to get an explanation from them which I never got other than he has been doing this for 20 years and that is what it costs but to treat a paying client in such a manner is just ABSOLUTELY INEXCUSABLE. Be assured that if anyone in the Tripoli/Minocqua/Rhinelander area who ever asks for my option on plumbing they will hear this story. Do NOT call this company. And it's a shame because when I talked to the owner, Ron, on the first call last Tuesday, he seemed like a very nice guy. Perhaps he should reevaluate his employee's conduct with potential clients.
