I completed an online rental application on the Appfolio / Welcome Home Milwaukee website on 10-06-2022. Welcome Home Milwaukee advertised a 2 bedroom unit that was stated "Available Now." The Appfolio website required the $35.00 application fee in order to submit the rental application for processing. On ********* or 10-08-22 I received a phone call from a Welcome Home Milwaukee Representative named ***************************, stating that the property that I applied for already has one application that has been approved to rent the property and their company was waiting on the approved tenant to pay the security deposit and 1st month rent, Charile state that if they don't pay the money by Monday I would be considered. I asked ******* how come the property is still being advertised? ******* stated, that is the company process to keep the property advertised until they actually receive the money from that tenant and that they have until Monday. ******* emailed or texted me on Monday, 10-10-22 or 10-11-22 to state that the tenant paid the money and the unit is no longer available. I stated then I will expect the refund for my $35.00 because Welcome Home Milwaukee knew this property was not available when I applied. *************************** never processed my application so I am not sure why he thinks he should keep my $35.00 all the information I provided to him via email my paycheck stubs, my employer status history documents, my photo id etc... ******* did not order any documents he stated their company could not afford to pay any fees to use theworknumber so I would need to email all of these mentioned documents to him in order for them to begin the processing of my application. This is deceitful way to get money from people who are really looking to find a rental home.
