DO NOT USE SHIELDS MOVING COMPANY THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU. I USED SHIELDS MOVING COMPANY 5/2024 and they stole from me because they know I was moving out of state. DeAndre the owner is just as bad as his stealing 2 employees. 1 is a ***** boy tall in slender the 2nd 1 is a ******* boy with glasses. I have them on video stealing my items, ******* ******* Department has been trying to get in touch with DeAndre and his 2 employees they will not answer the phones from the ******* Department. I will continue to fight this case, because the ******* boy tried stealing my deceased brothers TV that he left me, the ******* boy put the TV in there truck he broke the screen so he left the TV on the sidewalk. IF YOU WANT MOVERS THAT WILL STEAL FROM YOU SHIELDS IS THE MOVERS TO USE.

I had SEVERAL PROBLEMS occur recently w/Shield. Until things get resolved & my bill gets lowered to a PROPER AMOUNT for all issues experienced, I refused to pay (D'Andre-owner), due to some damage to my condo walls/ceiling, several broken items that weren't properly handled or wrapped, and Eli/Kevin spent hours of wasted time (in increments) chatting w/my teens instead of sticking to the job which ended up milking me several extra hrs. On move day, I got immediately concerned because I hired them for "labor help"only-NOT a truck cause I already rented one. They showed up w/a truck anyway, so I had to waste time to the 2 movers that their owner made a mistake & that I better not be charged for the truck when mine was already ready to be loaded. Move day: I had my own 3 guys in addition to Eli/Kevin (Shield). There's something wrong when I have to KEEP REMINDING workers that we need to "MOVE ALONG cause my landlord was waiting on me & have to continue to explain that YES I want "that wrapped" & YES we are moving "those larger items" over & over! My own helpers got very irritated because they were doing more work & sick of watching them stand around taking numerous breaks to talk & asking us the same questions about furniture as if they have never moved before. After 5.5hrs went by & none of my main furniture was even put on the truck as they were putzing around chatting again, I stated that "I sure hope you guys are planning on getting the rest of my stuff on that truck." Most things were already in the gargage & basement so this move should not have taken 5 guys over 6.5hrs just to load! Magically when they were done, unload was under 2hrs! So trying to charge me for almost 9hrs was ABSURD! I was charged for a TRUCK I specifically didn't ask for so I had to argue to remove that OFF MY $1300 BILL, had several large things damaged, will lose some of my security deposit at condo for damage they caused to walls/ceiling.I want a fair resolution & proper amount for my bill

Hello,While there is a valuation that states a specific reimbursement to damaged items, we made every effort to give you the necessary reimbursement for the damages that *** have occurred. However, your claims are inaccurate, as you had attempted to pay $400 for the service, we refused your payment because there was a total of $750 due after all modifications were made.

Your response makes absolutely no sense. Firstly, you never refused my payment? The facts: I, the customer had to find out MYSELF after contacting (FMCSA.DOT.GOV) that you lied & never had any INSURANCE at ALL which is REQUIRED by Federal/State law to cover any of my damages (nor any other customer's after reading numerous review complaints on your "company"). So...in the end, I sent damage photos & made you aware that I wasn't paying a dime until we figured out what you would be doing to handle my damages. I also made clear I DIDNT have to accept your initial demand that I allow your shoddy moving workers to make half c*** attempts to do DIY fixes to all my damages in the home and my belongings. I knew you had NO INSURANCE OF ANY KIND to reimburse me PLUS that it would have exceeded the bill in the end (which I broke down via email to you). It was then that this company finally CONCEDED & agreed to write my service bill away. My hopes is Shieldmovers ******* (owner) learned a ****** in this fiasco & finally gets the required amount of insurance that federal/state laws require him to have if he wants to continue offering professional MOVING SERVICES to anyone else.movers) are legally liable for the value of household **************** different levels of liability to offer the customer: full replacement value and released value of 60cents per lb. They said you should have provided me the estimate (which u did) and the arbitration process info and process for handling claims and booklet of rights/responsibilities before the move all of which I didn't get. It shows under your DOT number that cargo insurance is required but on file u show no. BIPD insurance required of $750,000 and on file for u it shows No.

    Hello,

Our company has always carried the legal insurance requirements for the state of ** (we are an intrastate moving company, we currently do not do interstate moves). If any customer needs proof of insurance all you have to do is, ask to see proof and it is emailed over with your moving contract.

With that stated, your items are covered directly by the company, not the insurance companies. This was made very clear in the moving contract you had signed prior to your move. There are now upgrade options that allow you to increase the reimbursement value of items that our team moves. We are sorry that this option was not available when you booked your move. You were not charged for your move because there was no way we could possibly get you to comply without going to court, which we were not inclined to take it that far for.

We are sorry for any inconvenience that has occurred with your move. The Shield Moving Team wishes you the best in your new home.
