To Whom It May Concern:On May 10, 2025, I noticed that my 4-foot LED Empire Level, purchased at Village Hardware in *******, ****, had developed a noticeable bend. This tool was used only as intended for professional plumbing work. Neither I nor anyone I loaned it to mishandled or damaged the level. The bend renders the tool unusable for precise installation, especially on commercial job sites.Milwaukee advertises this product under the Empire brand as durable and professional-grade. However, the defect contradicts these claims and violates consumer protection laws. Under the ********-**** Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2301) and Ohio Revised Code *******, it is unlawful to market a product as fit for professional use when it cannot perform its basic function. Additionally, under UCC *****, this product fails the implied warranty of merchantability, as it is not fit for its ordinary purpose.I am formally requesting either:A full refund of the purchase price, or An immediate replacement of the defective level. If unresolved within 14 business days, I will escalate this matter to the ****************************** and consider pursuing legal action.Thank you for your prompt attention to this complaint.Sincerely,****** *******

To Whom It May Concern,I am submitting this formal complaint regarding defective products purchased from Milwaukee Tool. On June 4, 2025, two Milwaukee batteriesa Red Lithium XC 4.0 and a Red Lithium XC High Output 6.0both failed during normal use with my Milwaukee band saw. When these batteries caused the band saw to stop functioning mid-operation, I immediately attempted to test them in a separate Milwaukee angle grinder. Both batteries also failed to operate the grinder. These batteries are relatively new and were used under normal conditions. Their simultaneous failure caused a hazardous situation: the band saw stopped suddenly, resulting in the blade becoming pinched between two iron pipes. The saw was then flung into a nearby wall, causing further damage. As a result, the flashlight feature on the band saw stopped working, and one of the wheels underneath the saw was damaged.Given the safety risk, loss of functionality, and the unreasonably short product lifespan of the batteries, I am formally requesting the following:A full replacement of both Milwaukee batteries:One Red Lithium XC 4.0 One Red Lithium XC High Output 6.0 A full replacement of the damaged Milwaukee band saw caused by the battery failure.I purchased Milwaukee products based on their reputation for quality and durability. This failure does not align with reasonable consumer expectations. I respectfully request that this matter be resolved promptly.Sincerely,****** ******* ************************ **************

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

To Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation and the Better Business Bureau,
Thank you for your response. However, I must formally reject your request to return the batteries through a Milwaukee authorized service store or via the eService process for in-person or centralized evaluation.
I have previously had a negative and unprofessional experience attempting to return batteries at an authorized Milwaukee service center. Due to that history, and for the sake of transparency and consumer fairness, I am only willing to proceed with a direct mail-in replacement process for the affected batteries, as you have already done for the tool.
Furthermore, the original tool has been discarded for the safety of myself and my coworkers due to hazardous performance, and is no longer available for return or evaluation.
      Legal Rights and Consumer Protections:
Under the ********-**** Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. ********), I am entitled to a warranty remedy that does not impose unreasonable burdens. Forcing me to return to a location where I have already had a documented poor experience constitutes an unreasonable and impractical remedy. The law requires that warranty terms be administered in a way that does not violate consumer protections or deny warranty coverage based on arbitrary procedural conditions.
Additionally, ************************ (FTC) guidelines prohibit companies from creating obstacles to warranty service, such as unreasonable return procedures or requiring the consumer to visit a specific location when a mail-in option is practical and already utilized in part (as youve done with the tool).
I am requesting that the remaining warranty replacement for the batteries be completed by mail only, consistent with what has already been done for the tool. This is a fair, reasonable, and documented method of resolution that aligns with both precedent and consumer protection laws.
Please confirm that the replacement batteries will be sent via mail to conclude this matter appropriately.
      Sincerely,
      ****** *******

BBB Milwaukee Tool values the warranty for tool and batteries. The customer has been advised to send in the batteries for warranty freight allowed. We have delighted the customer and with missing items at no charge however, the batteries will need to be sent in for warranty.

      Thank you!

Sending in the batteries would render my tools useless for the job, as they still semi-work, but only in short bursts of battery power. Sending the batteries in would mean I would not be able to perform work required by my employer. Milwaukee should know how the trades work, and requesting a consumer to send in worthless batteries while also have them stop earning wages is unreasonable and unwarranted, and their are many consumer laws that protect me from having to do such a thing. I will continue to reject this business response, because the customer is always right, and legally I am allowed to request replacement batteries without requiring me to do anything unreasonable. Thank you for understanding.

I sent in a chainsaw from Milwaukee tools to fix an oil leak but they wouldnt give me an accurate cost to fix it: only $231 cost to fix it which is the price. So they sent it back to me in pieces so it can no longer be used. This item worked great. I just wanted to get the oil leak fixed. They never said anything about sending it back in pieces if I didnt agree to there crazy cost to fix something minor. Now its in useable

4/26/2025 Bought a SDS rotary hammer. Used for appx 6 hrs. Something started burning in the tool (gasket/rubber o ring) and was leaking through the cooling ports. Also the front housing of the tool started moving independently from the rear which made it extremely difficult to use because you have to hold both ends. Contacted Milwaukee e service to have tool repaired. Described in detail what was wrong and shipped it off. Got it back over a month later and neither of the issues I described were repaired. THEY WERE COMPLETELY IGNORED.I called back and asked for a simple refund or discount for a different tool (stating I would send this one back) because I do not care to use it anymore since the issues I reported were not taken care of.They denied me and said I could send it back in again for the repairs that were completely ignored the first time. Owned this tool around 4 months, have got 6 hrs of use out of it.Not sure how Milwaukee expects people to make a living using their tools when they spend most of their life in a box back and forth between *************** facility.

I sent in my M18 3/8 Impact wrench for repair for the 1st time ever out of all my tools owned from milwaukee. And 2 batteries I got with a kit that never worked. I Received one of the batteries back. The 3/8 impact and the other battery was denied. I was.Told was denied for a missing belt clip. The tool had to be sent in complete. And this belt clip had nothing to do with why the impact was sent in. Serves 0 function of the tool but to hang from a belt. It was sent in for it not working while I was using it at work. As in the automotive field this clip is useless and many people take it off and toss it away. Just a loop hole for them to get out of warranty of a tool. I still have mine and asked if this is holding up the repair can i just send it in. And the tool will be complete. Over the phone. I was denied again. Asked about the 1 battery being warranted and the other be denied as the tool and the battery's were sent in one package. Why was 1 sent back the other denied said it was from no proof of purchase. Told them they sent me the proof of purchase on reason of denial on the 3/8 impact email so you have it. I sent it in 3 emails so you have all tools proof of purchase and was sent in box . Why warranty 1 not the other as they came in the same set sold. The Lie I was told. I use my tools to make money. I need them fixed fast sent back fast. Not games played or loopholes. They could use to not warranty their products. They obviously do not stand behind. And the warranty they provide. To charge for repairs too get more money from you. Battery sent back order number sv7435840 denied order numbers sv7435856. , battery *********. 3/8 can you help in getting my paid for tools repaired or replaced and returned and holding milwaukee responsible to stand behind their products and warranties they sell to the public? As they don't stand behind their products or warranty and I'll Remember this on my next purchase of a tool. Thank you for your time. I hope you can help BBB.

Milwaukee is a horrible company.I purchased a multi tool and used it twice in 10 months before it died. After spending several hours on their web site trying to figure out how to get it fixed under warranty, I had to go back to ********** where I purchased it. The Milwaukee *** their spend several hours on their web site and after two hours was able to print a mailing label. Although, when I got home I realized he didn't give me the correct mailing label! He said if I didn't like that I could drive a hour away to place that would mail it in for me. He ***eatedly tried to blame me that the multi tool stopped working, laughed at me, and told me that after ten months these tools are "old." Then he lists all sorts of fees that I have to pay it I want to send it back and he says the warranty is really a "limited warranty." These people are thieves! They sell crappy tools that don't work and then make the warranty process too difficult to complete

Milwaukee said they sent me an email. They did not. This does not surprise me. Their customer service and warranty are useless. The *** in the store actually laughed at me and told me I shouldn't be surprised because the tool was already 10 months old and batteries don't last that long. I could go on and on about their attempts to mislead and obfuscate their customers. They should be ashamed but instead they just keep your money and make up stories. They sent me an email - no, they did not. If you're going to lie at least make up something better.
