I have been a resident at Garden Terrace Senior Living for the past 5 years. On Jan 1st I noticed that ALL of my belongings had been removed from my storage. When I approached the staff that told me that I should contact the building manager who was on vacation for 2 weeks into the New Year. No one was left in her absence to answer or address any tenants urgent or critical needs. I reached out to the Director who seem to be completely out of touch with her management and could not help in the matter. After 3 weeks of constant run arounds and pass offs, I finally on Jan 13 talked to the manager. In the past this manager has always been short, rude, and unprofessional. As a business that caters to Senior Citizens, the management style should be more caring and empathetic. You would think after several urgent voicemails I would have been greeted with some understanding and urgency regarding my missing items, but I was not. She was very dismissive and unapologetic to my situation and still has not provided any insight to where my belongings have disappeared to. I have been patient throughout the ordeal chasing down staff, filing police and insurance reports all while dealing with the lost of personal family items that I fear I may never get back. I feel that because I am an elderly woman that I am being discriminated against and not taken seriously. I would like to expose this company for being a poor-quality assisted Living Facility. It is one thing to go into the business of property management but when your property clientele are senior citizens that business model should aim to deliver quality, respectable service. There is a need to improve the overall quality and management of this residency but at the least I am hoping that my concerns will be heard and that the truth will be revealed to me.
