July 2024 Ridge Top Exteriors ***laced our roofing and siding on our mobile home. It took longer to start the job than they had promised and we almost were evicted from our community. My main concern with the company is they sided over my water heater compartment even after my husband and I both told them we needed access to our water heater. Since we live in a mobile home our access is through a panel on the outside of the house. Neither of us were home when the job was completed. When we returned home to find our water heater panel sealed up we called the company. We called the job ******* and the sales *** multiple times. Neither have contacted us back. We need access to our water heater. I need them to come back out and give us access before a problem arises with my water heater.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We sincerely apologize for the lack of communication and the inconvenience you've experienced. We want to clarify that your original sales representative is no longer employed with Ridge Top Exteriors. Unfortunately, due to this transition, we were not receiving your calls or messages, and as a result, your concerns were not properly addressed. We truly regret this oversight and the frustration it has caused.

Regarding the issue with your water heater compartment, we understand how critical it is to have proper access, especially in a mobile home where that access is only available through an exterior panel. We want to assure you that we are taking this matter seriously. A member of our team will be meeting with you and your husband tomorrow morning to address these issues in person and ensure a proper solution is put in place.

Thank you again for your patience, and were committed to making this right.

A claim was filed with my insurance company to repair a roof. Ridge Top Roofing was used to do the job. The job was completed and deductible and insurance money was paid to the company. At the time of repair it was discovered additional items would be needed to fix the roof which a supplemental form was signed to complete the roofing work. Ridge Top submitted there supplemental work to the insurance company to be paid. They grossly stated things on this form they did not do and the insurance company checked with us on this matter. They included things like painting our garage, fixing cameras, fixing fence structure etc non roofing related items. They used three sheets of ply wood to rectify the additional need. They are asking insurance company to supplement them 20k plus in work they did not do. My insurance company has denied this payment because its items they did not do. Since they can not get what they want they have decided to internally close our file and told us that there is no warranty on the work and if we would need anything to not contact Ridge Top as this is not paid in full. We paid our deductible and have done our part. This is an issue between the roofing company and insurance company but they have decided to blame us for not committing false statements when our insurance company asked about the work that was done on the property. Ridge Top has decided to not honor the workmanship and warranty of this installation. We are asking the company to reconsider and make things right with this project and honor the workmanship and warranty as the client we have been honest and considered Ridge Top a professional company. They need to work with the insurance company to make this right. With closing I would prefer this solution to rectify this matter however if a solution can not be reached I plan on seeking legal representation in this matter going forward.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We take all customer feedback seriously and appreciate the opportunity to provide clarification. Our goal with every project is to deliver high-quality work and ensure that our customers are restored to pre-loss condition. As part of that process, we partner with a third-party supplementing company whose role is to identify all corresponding damages related to the loss and help ensure the scope of repairs is accurate and complete.

In your case, the supplement included several legitimate roofing-related items necessary for a proper and code-compliant repair. This included 6 additional squares of laminated composition shingles, updated lineal footage of asphalt starter, hip and ridge caps, double underlayment (as required by Florida code), and re-nailing of the roof sheathing. These are standard roofing items and were part of the work performed. Additionally, items such as overhead and profit (O&P) are submitted per standard estimating practices, but it is ultimately up to the insurance carrier to determine whether they are paidnot us.

We understand that your insurance company did not approve the full supplement and asked you to confirm what work was completed. When the supplement process was cut off, it impeded our ability to be fully compensated for the necessary work already performed. Unfortunately, this placed us in a difficult position regarding payment, which is directly tied to our ability to issue a warranty per our policy.

Please know that we have never asked you to make false statements, nor do we expect our customers to be involved in disputes between a contractor and an insurance carrier. We apologize if our communication made it seem otherwise. Our intention is always to remain professional and fair.

That said, we want to resolve this matter. We are open to further discussion with you and your insurer to find a path forward that restores your confidence and allows us to close the file appropriately. Please contact our office so we can work toward a resolution.

      Sincerely,
      Ridge Top Exteriors

I had 2 skylight window replacement by ridge Top Exteriors on 5-29-2025. THERE ARE LARGE GAPS AROUND THE NEW WINDOWS. Ridge top exterior said they don't do interior repair.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/06/2025

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We truly value your feedback and always strive to ensure our clients are satisfied with our services.

We understand your concern regarding the gaps around the new skylight windows. As outlined in our contract, Ridge Top Exteriors specializes in exterior work, and we do not provide interior repairs or finishes on skylights. The project manager and the contract clearly state we do not perform any interior work. Our scope of work includes the removal and installation of skylights, but unfortunately, interior repairs such as drywall, insulation, or trim are not part of our service offerings.

We apologize for any confusion this may have caused. However, if you're looking to have the interior work addressed, we would be happy to recommend a trusted contractor who specializes in interior finishes to ensure your skylights are properly sealed and finished on the inside.

We take pride in providing high-quality exterior services and hope to continue to be of assistance to you for any future exterior needs. If you have any further questions or would like assistance with finding an interior contractor, please dont hesitate to reach out.

My roof was replaced in 2019 by Ridge Top and I immediately had issues with their services. I was told by their representative ***** ****** that he would be on site supervising and that there would be someone picking up detritus from my yard; however I never saw him and was picking up nails and pieces of shingle years later. My gutter guards were not re-installed and I had to contact them multiple times to get them replaced (they were replaced incorrectly and are now sagging). I had mentioned that the shingles did not look even and was told that that was "normal" and that they would settle. Last year I got a hole in my roof causing water damage in my home. Ridge Top's warranty department said that this would not be covered by their warranty because it was not their fault. They put up a temporary patch but their attitude was so lousy every time I interacted with them that I decided I would rather work with another company to fix this issue. Last week, the temporary patch they put on started leaking again. I called another roofing company to look at it and the representative who came out was shocked by how bad of a roofing job Ridge Top did. He cited lifted shingles, excessive blackjack tar around vents, uneven shingles, and on the garage he pointed out adhesive overlap that is not up to code. He suggested I file a claim and possibly file a law suit because the quality of work was so incredibly sloppy.

The Company would like to know how to resolve the consumers complaint. A billing adjustment was requested, but no work has been performed.

If the Company were to honor the misquoted price for the new scope of work requested by the consumer, would the consumer even want to do business with the Company at this point?

Even if the project was free, the Company may never be able to satisfy this consumer.

After fighting for six months with my insurance company to pay for a new roof due to hail damage, I thought the worst was over with. Little did I know..! They not only charged two grand over the price quoted, they filed a lien on the property even though they knew I was in the process of taking out a bank loan to pay for it. This was after they had already received eleven thousand dollars (almost all that was due). The money due is around $1600 and they filed the lien even though I kept them posted every step of the way concerning the bank loan and the last part due and they had already received $11,000 Ironically, they're filing of the lien might be the the thing that sinks the loan, as it is a HELOC. ******, greedy ********** for the quality of the work, I am pretty sure I didn't get my money's worth. There are items on the invoice that I am certain they didn't do because **** ********, the guy in charge told me they weren't going to do, but he told me he would be billing insurance for anyway. They got it all done within a single day with a bunch of guys who didn't speak English who might be illegal aliens.

Hello, the original agreement that we signed with the property owner was for $12,000.99. That was on 8/28/24. On that same agreement, we explained that any damaged roof decking/sheathing would be charged at $74.46 per sheet if discovered upon tear off of the original roof.  Upon tear off, there were 14 additional sheets of sheathing that needed to be replaced, which we charged $980 for instead of the rate mentioned above (we charged less that the original agreed upon amount).

      - We did not file a lien on the house since the property owner paid us in full on 1/23/25.

      - We are not greedy, we simply abided by our contractual agreement.

      - We did not bill you for anything that was not completed.

      - Lastly, our installation teams are not comprised of illegal aliens, and that allegation is repulsive.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I do not accept the response of the company as the company charged well over a thousand dollars from what was quoted and **** ******** spoke candidly about what he was going to bill for and what they were actually going to do.
They were paid the $12000 we agreed to back in December, they wanted more money afterward to add to the work we agreed to on the date of completion.  The money was another $,2000, I did not get a 'deal' as they suggest. That, to me is greed. I had to take out a bank loan cause they inflated their costs, then they threatened me with legal action in because they felt they weren't getting the last of their extortion money fast enough after getting all of the original amount
As for the 'repulsive' charge of them employing illegal aliens, all l can say is that not a single one of the people that worked on the roof that day could speak a word of English and that companies like this one have a history of employing hard working illegals so they can exploit them.
This is a shady company with poor business practices and someone should look into them.

We did NOT collect $14,000+ from this customer.  As previously mentioned, the contract amount was originally $12,000.99 and the change order was $980.00. The total amount customer paid was $12,980.99. Breakdown as follows:

      Payment Method: MasterCard - $1,000.00 - 08/30/2024 12:44 PM

      Payment Method: ****** $5,134.47 - 08/30/2024 12:44 PM

      Payment Method: Checking - $5,200.52 - 12/12/2024 05:59 PM

      Payment Method: Checking - $1,646.00 - 01/23/2025 05:05 PM

All payments add up to exactly $12,980.99. We did not collect a ***** more than what was contracted and we do not have inflated pricing. The average price per square in zip code ***** according to ************ (reputable third party pricing software) is between $4.95/sqft and $7.48/sqft, excluding any decking/sheathing replacement.  Our price on this project was $5.90/sqft INCLUDING decking/sheathing replacement.

Having been in business serving the greater ********* area for over two decades and accumulating thousands of 5 star reviews across multiple branches speaks volumes to our ethical business practices and core values as a company.

Threatening customers with court after being paid $12,000 is not an honest way of doing business, especially as they inflated the costs on the day of replacement and I had no choice but to pay them. Their response was book-keeping, it wasn't a response. As I said, prior to the job being done, I also had candid conversations with **** ******** that he was going to bill for them even though they weren't going to actually do them for insurance purposes  They also charged me two fees of $750 to place a tarp on the roof while I was still working with insurance to help with the cost, which I thought was outrageous. Forget their supposed five star reviews, I can point to just as many people who are local who had bad experiences with them. On one house in my circle they had to come bank twice to because the roof was still leaking. I am also unconvinced that they are not using info undocumented workers for cheap labor and believe that needs to be looked into. Thanks,

Nobody threatened the consumer with anything. The following message, copied verbatim, was sent in accordance with regulations under the Wisconsin Administrative Code for properly notifying consumer of Prime Contractor lien rights --

"Hello **** - I hope this message finds you well. Please note that, due to the length of time that has passed since project completion, we are required to place a construction lien on your property pursuant to Wisconsin Administrative Code s. 779.06(1) to preserve Prime Contractor lien rights. Please also note that a construction lien is publicly visible to potential future lenders, creditors, and the community on the ***************** website for 6 years from the date of filing with the clerk of circuit court. Once final payment is received, we will file a lien satisfaction with the courts; however, the judgment will still be publicly visible for 6 years. I understand we are on waiting on your loan to be finalized for the balance, but I just wanted to make sure you know and understand some potential aftermath of a construction lien."

Consumer received money from their insurance claim to pay for this project, then likely spent the money elsewhere and had to scramble to pay their debts that which the insurance money was supposed to be used for.  Blaming our company for their financial negligence is simply a reckless cop out.

This consumer's allegations, opinions and slanderous remarks are without merit and hold no reasonable basis.

We contracted with ridgetop for a roof repair and were quoted $4,085. We were required to pay a deposit of $ ********. Several weeks later when the workers arrived they said the roof did not require what we were quoted and instead pulled a dirty patch out of the back of their truck., cleaned it off and adhered it to what they think was the leak and they also caulked around the chimney. That is all. They took the materials that were delivered back with them. The salesman texted us and told us they were going to keep the deposit and that would suffice for the work that was done. We would like partial refund of what we have already paid.

I am dissatisfied with the workmanship and professionalism of Ridgetop Exteriors. As of today's date, my home is and has been since May 9th, left vulnerable to the elements during an incredibly rainy season. They didn't make it Wednesday but they did come Thursday.  The newest crew did fix a lot of the issues; but when I arrived (took MORE time off work) to go over the work to sign off, the had still left the north facing window completely untouched; they still hadn't replaced the cover on the phone box that they took off and lost the bolt for; and there are still a couple corners that need to be redone because the j-channel was cut too short.  They did address the window while there Thursday after I noticed it was still not done but I am going to have to have someone come check what they did because they weren't prepared to do that work so I want to make sure they used the correct materials and it's water tight.  That shed has taken in a lot of water because of their negligence.  They stuck a random s**** in the phone box cover to secure it to the house ... looks as cheap as a lot of the stuff they tried to leave me with.  They have to order j-channel to fix the remaining items and will return.  Again.

I am incredibly frustrated and disillusioned with this company and their lack of care.  I mortgaged my home to hire this company and they've been absolutely irresponsible and negligent in some cases.  The owner never responded to my email; the salesperson stopped communicating and I have been extremely kind and cool-headed about this entire nightmare.  I believe at this stage they owe me a concession on the remaining balance.  Three months; five different crews; hours of work missed running home to show them what they need to do because nobody gave them photos or complete instructions; necessity to hire the gutters cleaned of the old siding that was clogging them; a shed attached to the house that was left unsealed from May 6th to August 8th.  During that time, we had over 15" of rain that ran between the house and the shed because they'd removed the seal and didn't replace it.

I don't even know what type of concession to ask for.  I'd like to trust they would do the right thing and try to salvage our relationship but I have absolutely no faith whatsoever that they will.

Hello - thank you for the critical information that has been provided in this submission.  As of today, we are still working to rectify the workmanship related items that the consumer has referenced and we plan to continue keeping the lines of communication open while working towards achieving their satisfaction.  We stand behind our work and at the end of the day, we'd like to be able to say we've done everything we could to rectify the situation.  Construction is not a cut & dry industry, we deal with a lot of variables during the day-to-day work. However, that is not an excuse because most problems can be handled simply with communication. Communication will be the key to ensuring a positive end result for this consumer and their project. Thank you.

Siding sold and installed by Ridge Top Exteriors in 2017 is fading/faulty after only 7-1/2 years.

      To whom it may concern:

We at Ridge Top Exteriors did get ***** in connection with the manufacturer of the siding, e-mail attached.  We at Ridge Top concur that the siding is faded and should be replaced if it meets the manufacturers requirements/specifications for replacement.  As the e-mail reads we are not allowed to file a warranty for or on behalf of the home owner after one year.

Again:  ****************************************** is and will be the starting point for this homeowner for his warranty claim.

We had gutters and gutter guards installed on 10/24/22 and have reported issues about them leaking several times and the problem still exists. We have other issues with the company concerning the gutter guards and we cannot get that resolved. It seems they are ignoring the leaking issue because of that. The last email I sent was August 16, 2023 responding to them, and I have not heard back. I also sent an email again today (12/2/23) asking that they come and see as it is currently leaking.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The response back is not related to the issue we filed. The purpose of the filing was to take care of the leak. We were informed (via phone) that this is scheduled for Wednesday 12/13. This is the email I received on 12/4 pertaining to that (I xx'd out the names):

      Subject: RE: leaking
We will be re-pitching the back gutter to the line that the homeowner wants.  The gutter crew will also install a big mouth extension on the front downspout as well as applying more sealant to the inside corner of the front gutter since it is leaking at a *************** for the gutter guard the "pitch" it was installed at is the on-going issue we have been trying to work out with them. The gutters were installed at 1 7/8 drop for a thirty foot run they should be 1/4 inch per ten feet. We are not asking that they install it "zero pitch" we are asking that they be installed at the 1/4 inch per 10 feet that is standard.

I can respond back after they finish on Wednesday with the results.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me as of today. However, we have not had much rain since they were fixed. I will notify the company if there is still a leaking problem.
