    Contractor defaulted on his duties and obligations under this contract as follows: Contractor keeps disappearing. Contractor does not show up each day. Numerous times, We had to telephone and text Contractor to inquire when he is returning to work on the construction project at our house. Contractor keeps promising that he will return to work the following day and then does not show up and does not contact me and disappears again. The construction project was slated to be completed by January 18, 2024. We can no longer trust Contractor to appear and are forced to hire another contractor to come in as soon as possible to complete construction project. As of December 12, 2023, Contractor has worked a total of 15 hours of demolition work and has picked up contracting supplies with his truck. We will pay Contractor a total of $1500.00 for services rendered to date.We paid the Contractor a deposit of $5,000.00 in cash. Paid directly to Contractor in person. Therefore, we are requesting a refund of $3500.00. We sent a letter via federal Express to contractor on January 15, 2024 and to date, contractor has not reached out to us. At this time, we have not pursued legal action. But will consider pursuing legal action in 30 days.
