I have attempted repeated contacts with this business re: the inappropriateness of their ads, aired when families and possibly young children in the dinner prep hour are seeing / hearing the ad between local news spots. The owner delighted keeps using the word firearms as the attractive thing for the young man in the ad to purchase as his gift to self. In this day, with the escalated gun violence in WI, a trial going on for *******************************, the issues around the *********************** shootings on the movie set in ********, **, the escalation of suicide among young teens and young adults, there is no place for the use of that word with such glee. I suggested to him to replace it with hunting rifle if he wants to get his gun gig into the picture. Nothing has ever changed. Ethically, morally this is just not justifiable to be aired like that. The ad ought to be totally clean and family friendly. Guns do not need to be advertised between the evening news, local or national, when daily we hear of repeated tragedies. The last contact I made I said if I did not hear back or see a change in ad, I would take it to the BBB. Whether or not you can do anything about this, I do not know. At the very least, talk to the owner. Lets do better for the ********* of ************** Thank you.
