So I had bought a truck from this dealership right around March 29, 2024. With that I had also purchased some gap insurance from the dealership for the truck just for safety measures in case anything happened. A couple of months later, I went to the credit union that provided me the loan, and I asked to refinance the truck. I bought the gap insurance from my credit union instead, and then I called the dealership to cancel the gap insurance I had bought from them. This was right around last September 2024. I got the refund approved. I emailed the information that they needed to get me my refund, and they told me it would take right around six to eight weeks for my refund to get sent to my credit union so that money could be used towards the payment of the loan. It has been over six months already, and I still have not received anything. I have called my credit union multiple times to ask if they have received anything, and they have not. *** called the dealership, and all they have told me is it is being investigated.Business Response

I had an appointment on July 31, 2023 for them to check my 2013 ***** Equinox because I was having a lot of problems with it, I thought there might be an issue with the computer because of some of things it was doing also the transmission. I explained over the phone when I made the appointment, so they had a good idea of what I was dealing with, but I don't think they were listening to what I said. which was obvious to me when I picked my car back up, on Friday August 4, 2023 I dropped it off on Monday ****. They gave me a rental car charging me $55 a day for it. I started driving to work after picking it up on Friday, but before I even got half way to work from ********** to the ********** **********, ** it started doing the exact things I told them about and of course the ck engine light came back on. I immediately tried calling them and left the phone ring and ring but no one woul answer even though this was before 3:30 pm in the afternoon. Finally someone picked the phone up and hung up on me without saying anything. They said they had changed a sensor but whatever they did it didn't do anything to fix my car it was running the same. They charged me $674.46 for the week of keeping my vehicle and just ran a diagnostic test on it, which I know only takes maybe an hour or 2 at the most, since I took it to 3 other places to have the same thing done. I doubt that the sensor took very long to replace either. They definitely didn't take it for a test drive either before or after changing the sensor because what was going on would have started not long after driving it. It would also do it alot of times when I just started it up. They were just milking this out for what reason I have no idea.I made an appointment with another place to have it checked out also and also called them back to tell them what happened, they checked it out and said they didnt find anything. I brought it back a 3rd time, they charged me another $178.30 telling me it was something elsBusiness Response

The customer came in on 7/31/2023 for a check engine light on and the vehicle jerks randomly while driving, the customer requested a loaner vehicle and was quoted $55 a day for the loaner and a diagnosis fee of $169.00 to cover the technicians time in diagnosing the concern. The technician began working on the vehicle on 08/01/2023 at 3:49pm and finished his diagnosis the following day 08/02/2023 at 8:28am, he found both the check engine light was on as well as the air bag light. The check engine light was on due to a bad steering angle sensor setting a C0544-5A DTC. We did not have the part in stock and it was going to need to be ordered, the customer approved the repair for $674.46 at 3:20pm on 08/02/2023 knowing we needed to order the part. The technician installed the steering angle sensor and repairs were completed 08/04/2023, the same day that the part arrived. The loaner fee was waived due to the amount of time it took to get the part in and the customer was never changed for the loaner vehicle.
The customer dropped their vehicle off on 08/10/2023 stating their check engine light was back on, this time we found a transmission valve body code, unrelated to the steering angle sensor, ****** was informed on 08/10/2023 at 1:35pm that she would need to authorize us dropping the transmission pan in order to confirm the diagnosis and was quoted $169.00 to complete that. ****** believed she had a warranty through another dealership and declined any repairs or wanting to pay any diagnosis fee and opted to take the vehicle without being charged anything as it was explained to her to have a full diagnosis, we would need her to authorize the technicians time to dig into the concern that was not related to her previous repair.
She came back in on 09/12/2023 stating the vehicle is jerking while driving and the check engine light is on, she was quoted $169.00 upon dropping off her car and signed for the diagnosis fee. We found new DTCs on her third visit of a P0700,P0710-42, and C0710 with the technician recommending replacing the transmission control module. We diagnosed the vehicle on 09/13/2023 and called and left a voicemail 12:27pm. We called again on 09/14/2023 where ****** again stated this should be covered by her extended warranty through another dealership, it was called into her extended warranty and repairs were declined. ****** was quoted for what it would cost to replace the transmission control module and declined the repairs. She was charged the diagnosis fee of $169.00 plus tax and took her vehicle.Initial Complaint

On 8/12/2022 The salesman ********************* whom is no longer employed by Markquart took ****** dollars from me at closing hours to hold a vehicle over night, till my significant other got home in early morning hrs the next day 8/13/2022. When he and I decided to talk about it and look at it together we decided against the vehicle. Markquart refused to return my ******. I've sent certified letters to them and got no reply. ***** had the purchasing contract written up under my significant others last name and the numbers were not correct, ***** assured me that the contract will be rewritten come the next business day. This contract should be in void being it was written under boyfriends last name and numbers were not correct. My boyfriend made an attempt to try buying accessories for his pickup that he purchased from Markquart as a way to get my ****** back. General manager ********************* refused and said it could only be applied to a brand new vehicle purchase. After this incident we will never do business with them again and want our ****** back in full.Business Response

Markquart only holds cars with nonrefundable deposits for 100% of our customers. This customer has tried to hold a car and ask for a refund several times, so I personally went into the customer and explained nonrefundable deposits and clarified if we held this car no refund would happen. I have a signed purchase contract that clearly says nonrefundable and as I said this customer has tried this many times there will be no refund and we are not interested in further business with her thanks.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.May I repeat the contract I signed at closing time did not have accurate numbers nor did it have my legal name attached to it. I feel the salesman played the bait and hook tactic and coerced/pressured me into signing the incorrect paperwork that I asked to be corrected before signing but he refused because they were closing. The salesman pressured me into signing paperwork because there were supposedly 3 other families interested in the vehicle and if I did not sign the contract that it would probably be sold over night online by one of the other families, all after explaining to salesman that my fiance would come in first thing in the morning to look at the vehicle in which he did before salesman hours and decided against the vehicle. This vehicle, after the fact, sat on the lot for sale for over a month before it ended up getting sold, which confirmed the 3 families interested was false.
Because Markquart Motors Salesman was dishonest about the 3 other families interested in the vehicle to coerce me into signing incorrect paperwork that would later be corrected. I feel I deserve my ****** dollars back.
Just a refresher this incorrect printed contract was signed at closing time on Friday evening, I asked salesman to correct it now, he claimed that they were closing and it can be corrected in the morning. My fiance and I were at the doors waiting for salesmen to arrive Saturday Morning not even 12 hrs. later to share with them that he was against the vehicle. Markquart Motors lost nothing in sales. The General Manager was on vacation so I was made to follow up with him for a refund a week later. No way no how did anything I did slow down the sale of that vehicle. It's not like I/we decided against it days later
At this point, I feel it would be in Markquart Motors best interest to settle this situation, so we can all move on from this bad experience.
Regards,

I would be happy to send the BBB all the documents that more than prove that we did everything correct and this consumer is being unreasonable. I order to this you need to send me something showing I can legally send you protected information that is covered under the privacy act thanks.
