Thrivent has been extremely difficult to work with!! My elderly mother who resides in a nursing facility bought the Thrivent spiel and had signed up with them years ago. She had purchased nursing home insurance. When it came time for her to use it, they fought it tooth and nail. I had to get numerous, numerous affidavits and legal declarations and sent them a two-inch thick folder of documentation in order for them to finally cover her. Since that time, they treat me, the POA, like a criminal and will not discuss her policy; are rude and dismissive when simply trying to update addresses and phone numbers, and overall are cruel and harsh in their demeanor. No one expected my mother to live as long as she is, so at 95 years of age, they continue to deny and fight back against her increasing nursing home charges. I would never in my life work with this company in any manner!

Terrible company to deal with. Settling and estate that had policies with Thrivent. They make you supply documents that are not needed by other insurance companies. Will not send or receive emails. There higher purpose is to make it difficult for their clients.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This company ************ their employees like dirt. They do not care about their people. I have not worked for Thrivent but I know someone who has and they were treated like a throw away and targeted to be driven out of the business. Not a religious company at all. Their VPs are not leaders and treat people terribly. They blow all the investors money with high end travel and spend their profits on their executive leaders who arent leaders in the slightest based on what I know. This company is evil. Im a very successful leader with a fortune 50 company and never would they let this happen to my employees. Im extremely saddened by the way people are treated at this company. Please do not invest your money with this financial institution.

They absolutely stone wall you legally and do nothing that is indicative or care or concern. The moment you need them, they're gone hiding behind their legal team via voicemail!Absolutely horrible, ethically disgusting behaviour.

We have a fantastic rep who keeps in touch, explains everything very well. However, I learned from ******** that they celebrate LBGTQ. So much for being a Christian organization. When I questioned someone at their main office, it was confirmed that they need to be inclusive.

Run, run, run. Was a **********company, no longer! High pressure to convert old annuity contracts to newer, with different rules. They will tell you one thing and do another. In arbitration nowrun, run, run!

This company lied to my mother about her money when she invested with them. They prey on seniors as she found them through one of her senoir groups she used to go too. She was talked into putting a large sum of her money in an investment they told her would be safe and was guaranteed to produce 3% interest, they also told her it would not cost her anything to keep her money with them. They lied. First they sold some of her investments they were told not to touch and then after they had her money it did not net her 3% and they charged her a large annual fee so at best her account was maybe making 1%. On top of that when she wanted to pull her money out they told her she would loss a large chunk of her investment because she could not touch the money for 12 years. That is because it was a life insurance policy, not an investment. Only the beneficiaries of the policy would benefit from this so called investment. Now they will let you barrow your money but with high fees. They talked several of her senior friends into the same scams. My mother has since past so now I get to see if they will relinquish the policy to me and my brothers. DO NOT INVEST WITH THRIVENT! and do not use life insurance as an investment.

Poor admin and follow through after errors on their side on insurance policy.

My wife and I are wanting to open an annuity with Thrivent and I wanted to check reviews. I am in shock reading all of the negative reviews. It sounds like a lot of communication issues and we have had just the opposite. We have been using Thrivent for insurance and investments including policies for our three kids. We have always had a good relationship with our Thrivent (previously AAL) advisors. Over the past thirty-plus years we have depended on their counselling and educating us in making our financial insurance and investment decisions. Our Thrivent advisor met with us recently at our home regarding options for rolling over a 401K, he listened to our goals and our concerns then presented several options explaining how each would work to benefit us. He put no pressure or hard-sell on us to make a quick decision and then within a couple of days followed up with additional information we requested on products/options. We have confidence in Thrivent and trust that they will continue to help our family in making the best financial investments that fit our goals. That said, I recommend that everyone when buying anything to give it due-diligence of checking reviews and comparing companies and products, no matter how much you trust a company or store, always get three comparisons. So far we are still going with Thrivent.

I wish I could leave 0 Stars! Do not trust this company or their advisors. I left our money with them too long and am paying the price. I gave my advisor one specific goal. He lead me to believe that he was working on it. When the time came to access the money, he lied again to say that none of my money was "liquid". Contacted ***** Fargo and I am already in a better place just months from taking my money out of Thrivent.By the way, they make it EXTREMELY difficult to move your money to a new company.DO NOT trust Thrivent with your money.
