My gf and I just signed a lease on a cabin on 12/10/22. There were a number of improvements discussed verbally the first time at the property, including the landlord buying an actual refrigerator for the unit (currently only has a mini-fridge that has a broken freezer) and paying me to build them a shed with water and electricity ran to it for a washer and dryer with the landlord buying the supplies. After we moved in, they backed out of getting the refrigerator, forcing us to buy our own and wanted me to do all of the labor on the laundry shed for free. Upon the first time that we used the oven, we discovered that it continually heats and ***** the outside of anything cooked while leaving the inside uncooked, they again have not addressed this issue and we had to buy our own oversized counter top toaster oven to use in the meantime. We have found another rental and would like help getting free from this landlord and management company with out getting taken advantage of more than we already have been.

      Business Response

I have been doing property management for 15 years, manage 70+ properties in the ******/seattle area and have a very successful business. We conduct  business with utmost integrity and we pride ourselves on acting immediately and fairly to tenant and owner issues alike. I can say that this tenant *********************** and his partner *********************** are about the most in trustworthy and problem creating tenants I have ever had! Do not rent to them! Everything they say in their statement is false. During the tour of the property they were very kind and accomodating and wanted to build a shed for a new Laundry told me they had the skills to do so, and we talked about adding a larger fridge for them and where it would go. I did not say that the owner would pay for all of that because I did not have the authority to say that at the time! The potential tenants wanted to go ahead so I began to vet them and talk with the owner about tye ideas. The owner agreed to pay for materials for a shed if the tenant provided the labor. She never agreed to purchase an additional fridge but was ok with them putting one of their own into the house. I put all of this very clearly into the lease in the note section and the tenants signed it! Its very clear in the note section!

after moving in the tenants made constant complaints. We solved all of them! Sent pest control out, a handyman and a gardener. We spent 100s on their complaints. Then about 2 months after they moved in they called me to tell me they were but happy with the agreement about the shed which they agreed to in the lease! They wanted the owner to pay for their labor in making the shed. No way were we going to do that with these troublemakers! Then the tenants proceeded to blast my company on social media, posting false reviews. I kindly asked them to take the reviews down and talk with me but they refused.

The tenants are now making more TROUBLE and complaining about the oven and freezer in a hotel sized fridge! They refuse to send me specific information about the idea or make and model of the appliances (which I need I order to talk to repairman).

And now they are filing complaints with the BBB. What a nightmare!

We have let these horrific tenants know that they can end the lease and move out at any moment, they just need to leave the house in the condition they got it in and leave keys. I cant wait to have them gone!

      Complaint: 19456681

I am rejecting this response because: If we were to leave prior to what we have paid for, it would be at a rate of $41.94/day left early.

      The refund would include:

      Deposit of $1,900

      Cost of replacing refrigerator $225

Plus $41.94 per day left early

This would be due upon return of keys at walkthrough (all in person contact will be recorded)

      Sincerely,

      ***********************

I do not know why this tenant is complaining yet again!  They are just trying to cause more TROUBLE!

We let them out of their lease early (on 3/7/23 instead of 11/30/23) and told them we would pro-rate their rent.

We could not wait to get them out of our property!

We legally have 20 days to return their deposit (3/27/23).  We will be returning their FULL DEPOSIT PLUS PRO_RATED RENT!

These are the most annoying and difficult tenants I have ever experienced.

DO NOT RENT TO *********************** OR ***********************!
