I purchased an indoor trainer bike from Stages Cycling on 11/21/23. Free shipping was included in the cost, I have the order confirmation to prove. The bike was delivered in late November 2023, I was happy with my purchase. In September 2024, I received an invoice from ***** freight in the amount of $175 for the shipping charges to deliver the bike. After a bit of research, I've discovered Stages Cycling is out of business. I believe Stages never paid ***** for shipping, now ***** is attempting to recover the unpaid shipping fee from me. The first invoice from ***** didn't arrive until Sept. 2024, nearly a year after purchase of the bike. I have disputed the charges with ****** but they insist I am responsible for these charges. I have included the original receipt from Stages and subsequent billing invoice from *** Ex. Thanks for your help.Initial Complaint

Purchased the Stage Cycling SB20 Smart Bike indoor trainer for $2,794.70. I've had ongoing issues starting when the SB20 was well under warranty, to the point the SB20 is unusable. I've contacted Stages Cycling many times over the past few years, all starting when the SB20 was well within the warranty. I've submitted many tech support tickets through Stages Cycling online portal. Never received a response. I've called the tech support many times and never spoke with a human while waiting on hold. The last tech support request was submitted in March 2024 with no response. I followed up many times to the ticket with absolutely no response. Since there has been no value to this purchase and Stage Cycling doesn't support their product, I'm requesting Stages Cycling refund $2,794.70.Customer Answer

Searching the web, it is apparent that Stages Cycling as a company is in financial crisis but has not declared bankruptcy yet. Stages Cycling is owned by Foundation Fitness and CEO *********************. ************************* phone number is ************, but I haven't been able to get him on the phone. Web articles claim *** laid off his customer support over a year ago. Not providing support for their products for over a year is still unacceptable. My stance is still that Stages Cycling needs to refund the $2700 since their product is unusable and not supported. Here is an article describing the situation with the company: **********************************************************************************************************************************************************Customer Answer

Noticed Stages Cycling has a BBB rating of "F" which is appropriate. Stages Cycling is owned by Foundation Fitness LLC, which has a BBB rating of "B-". Seems like Foundation Fitness LLC should support my case, or also be ranked with a "F"?Customer Answer

I purchased a Stages Ultegra Left/Right ***** meter on 12/30/2023 for $733.51. I've had previous ***** meters from Stages that worked great so I decided to stick withthe brand. However, after only having this new ***** meter for a few months the left one stopped working. It continuously gave me a calibration number of 390 but itshouldbe between *******. As a result my *****numbers were incorrect. I contacted customer support which took almost 20 days for them to even acknowledge my support ticket and respond. I completed all of the troubleshooting processes but the ***** meter still did not work so I was advised I would get a replacement. Unfortunately, Stages decided to lay off all its employees and shut down the customerservice email address. I'm demanding you send me a replacement ***** meter given it's less than a year old. My support ticket number is#******.Initial Complaint

I made a commitment to Stages Cycling to purchase 16 stationary bikes in 2023. In May, 2023 I received a call from my Stages sales representative. He informed me that the company was in a dispute with the manufacturer and I needed to find other bikes for my new business as he and all the sales staff had been laid off. He immediately sent an email to ***************************** letting them know I was cancelling my order and to refund the $3,545.81 deposit I had already paid. It is now April, 2024 and I have not received my deposit back from this company. I have tried contacting their CEO ********************* many times via phone and email with no response. I am a brand new business and really need that deposit back. The last contact I had with the company was with *********************, a sales representative, who told me that "leadership" communicated to him it was not an option to get my deposit back and referred me to ******************.Initial Complaint

Hello-I own a small business in ********, ** called *********. Ive had Stages bikes for about 2 years now and have had minimal help in getting what I need when they break or fall apart. Every time I call this company or email this company I get no answers, completely brushes off and feel helpless when I need parts. For example one bike down in a small business hurts our revenue, Ive had one bike down for 6 months and there is still no resolve all I get is the same basic supply chain issue. This part is a crank arm, it is vital to an indoor cycling bike and there are none? For over 6 months? It doesnt make any sense and we need our part sent to us. I spent over 40k on bikes so i hope you can imagine my frustration over these small parts.Initial Complaint

After reviewing all the negative complaints and see the * rating of Stages Indoor Cycling I am not surprised. I am unsure if the Better Business Bureau was aware that Stages Cycling sells very expensive exercise equipment. I paid **** *** dollars for exercise equipment. The model number is a Stages SC3 commercial exercise bike. After a few months several issues began. It was regarding parts. The parts were breaking down. A few times Stages sent us the parts and expected us to do the labor, which was ok I quess. The current parts issue is relating to the drive train of the bike. This part causes the machine to turn. However the part has a screws which allow us to remove the part in order to service or replace. However. When I tried to service that part, the screws are very cheap. So the screws stripped. So when the cheap screws strip it makes it immpossible to replace or service that part, which causes the wheels to move. When I told the "stages support ***** about it they began accussing me of wrongdoing.I then even video taped what I was doing to prove the screws are stripped. However I got gas-lighted. The Stages staff kept saying that I was doing it wrong. Which is rediculous there are only one way to remove a s**** And iff the s**** is stripped that renders the part defective. I guess I can buy 100s of dollars in power tools and try to remove the s**** that way. Bottom line bike is still under warranty and Stages is refusing to honor their warranty. What is most egracous and chilling is now they are ignoring my emails. Even after I paid **** dollars and they admit it because they verified the purchanse. They feel they can ignore paying customers because they are so huge. I hope Stages will honor their warrenty and apologize for their abusive staff.Initial Complaint

Right around a year of use, my stages SB20 has had some major issues and no longer works as it is supposed to. I have been diligent in my research of the issues AND in contacting the business (attached record of my attempt at correspondance). The company has neither reached out to me or made attempts to fix innumerable problems with the product that many customers are having. Right now, I have a $2700 boat anchor and the company has ghosted me. My preferred resolution would be a refund and for the company to take the bike back.Initial Complaint

I purchased a stages ** 20 in February of 2023. I know many people love this bike and have no issues, but fear I may have gotten a lemon. Out of the box, the left shifter didn't work. Stages was great about working with me, we tried several things first, and eventually they replaced the entire shifter which solved the problem. Since that time, I have spent way too many hours trying to get the bike to work properly. The power fluctuates wildly, the left power meter can't be paired which is one of the hacks suggested by stages, and there is a huge delay of getting power when peddling. I understand products can have issues and need tweeking, but my biggest complaint is that stages is literally unable to contact as they do not reply back even when they promise to do so. I have left no less than 10 voicemails. I have also emailed them on 4/15/23, 4/25/23, 5/4/23, and 10/4/23. The email autoreply used to say that I would be contact within a week, now it just says as soon as possible. I have not once gotten stages to contact me back since my broken shifter was fixed. Im requesting stages simply to contact me and help me troubleshoot the issues, or replace the ** 20 with a new one if they are unable to help me fix the issue. Thanks
