Labor Charged by the Job, Not the Hour If you are thinking about using Hunts Services for plumbing, please be very careful. Hunts Services charges labor by the job, not by the hour. With my experience it was very ********* mothers hot water shut off valve under her kitchen sink needed replacing. Hunts Services replaced both shutoff valves and supply lines, charged $473.26. I thought this was a fair price, considering parts on the high side would run $50 and the rest in labor, $423.26.Then when we tested the new connections, we noticed that the water pressure was considerably less than before. The plumber suggested that the existing faucet should be replaced to restore the water pressure, I agreed. Now the catch is this is a new job. The cost to replace a basic, chrome, single-handle kitchen faucet with an auxiliary sprayer was $742.26. The part costs $57.70, leaving $684.56 in labor ********, in conclusion, after approximately 1 hour of service Hunts Services walked away with $1,107.82 minus $120 for a senior discount equaling a total of $987.82 in labor charges.Again, please be careful and do not get burned like I did.

    Hi *******,

I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. Your feedback helps us do better, and I want to personally make this right for you.

First, I want to sincerely apologize that the final costs caught you off guard. You're absolutely right - even though we provide upfront pricing and get approval before starting work (which you did), I completely understand how seeing that total could still feel frustrating. That's not the experience we want any of our customers to have.

Let me walk you through what those costs included:

The valve/supply line work ($473): This includes a full diagnosis of the issue, professional installation by licensed plumbers, complete testing to ensure proper function and our warranty - meaning if anything goes wrong, we'll fix it at no extra cost to you.

The faucet replacement ($742): While it might look like a quick job, there's actually quite a bit that goes into it such as proper sealing to prevent leaks, adjusting water pressure correctly, ensuring all connections are secure and testing for any potential issues to prevent callbacks and future problems.

I want you to know we employ only licensed plumbers (not just apprentices) because we believe in doing jobs right the first time. Their expertise does factor into our pricing, but it also means you're getting top-quality work that lasts.

Most importantly, we stand behind our work 100%. If you're still noticing any water pressure issues, I'll personally send our most experienced plumber to inspect everything - completely on us, no charge.

As a token of our appreciation for your understanding, I'd like to offer you 5% off any future service. Please feel free to email me directly at ******************************** if you'd like to discuss this further. I'm here to help make this right.

Hunts replaced the water tank for my boiler to supply my home with hot water. After three days, and $10,000. to replace holding tank (tech recommendation), we still had no hot water. Had to hire another company who came out and fixed it right the first time, only it cost me another $3000. Hunts Services had no remedy for me though I waited for them to process my complaint for 2 and a half months. The way they avoid compensating you is they wont work without you signing an estimate then claim they had a contract. Poor business practice. I will actively remind people not to use them.

I was replacing hot and cold water supply lines to all the sinks in the house (13 total including line to dish washer). Service was good on work performed. But I had been quoted prices that were half what I ended up paying a month earlier. And I purchased and provided most of the materials which should have reduced the cost even more.I had started the work myself, but ran into material supply issues, so called Hunts. I expected to pay more, but did not expect to pay more after buying most of the materials required, completing 5 of the 13 installations myself, and removing ALL but 2 of the lines to be replaced.

Needed dryer vent clean and duct cleaning. Technician examined ducts saying they were good but dryer vent really needed cleaning. He was very thorough. Cleaned area he worked in when done.

I was looking for plumbing maintenance for my hot water tanks (inspection, flush, etc). Used ******/Pierce County ***************** for 2023 and ****** was one of top three listed. I called all three for an estimate and ****** was the only one that quoted me over the phone while the other two would have to send a rep out to conduct a walk through and provide an estimate. I went with ****** and scheduled my appointment. I was given a window of 9 am to 4 pm and would get a call ***** minutes before arrival. At 9:18 am a rep called, gave me the tech's name and said he would arrive in 30 minutes. At 9:50 am, tech was pulling in my driveway - punctual. After introductions, showed him the tanks for his inspection. Also, since first visit to my residence, tech inspected all plumbing under sinks and toilets throughout the house. Because of this, he also identified a couple other minor issues "to keep an eye" for the future. He drained the main tank, identified failed expansion valve and replaced with a new one. Tech was courteous, efficient and knowledgeable. He represented ****** well. My overall experience was excellent as I found everyone I talk to from ****** helpful and friendly. I would recommend their services for plumbing to anyone (I have not used them for other services that they advertise providing).

He took his time to make sure everything was correct. He had a great sense of humor with everything. When one plan didn't work, he came up with a different plan on how to finish the job in one visit.

I had an existing ceiling fan swapped out for a new one. The scheduling was easy. The technician who came to my home was fantastic, and my fan is working great. However I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of what I consider exorbitant pricing with no transparency. When I made the appointment, I was informed that there was an approximately $200 fee for the tech to come out which could then be applied to my service. I agreed to that and asked for a ballpark range of what this straightforward job would be. The scheduler was not able to give me any idea whatsoever. The tech came and quoted me a price of just over $1,000. I was a bit shocked but agreed because I just wanted the work done and didn't want to waste the $200 fee. He was in and out of my home in well under two hours. He was friendly and professional, but I feel this service was way overpriced

The HVAC technician provided by **** completed a thorough inspection, gave me a detailed verbal report of what the issues were, and an honest opinion of whether the work was absolutely necessary. He was able to answer my concerns and questions in detail and provided me with reassurance that the system was good to go.

I was very impressed. New main water line installed. From the street to the house shutoffs feading the house. They used the trenchles system. They had to boar under the gas and over the sewer line. All utilities were located with out any question. My new 20 yard driveway with rebar i had redone a couple years ago, was not touched! not even a scratch. I couldn't be happier. The three other bids wanted to dig a open trench along the driveway in the lanscaped grass and saw cut 10ft across the new slab to get to the house. Three feet once in the garage under the house Fondation into the garage. What a mess that would of caused. This way, knowone can even tell, a new water line was installed. The access points were a small 30x30inch saw cut opening on the garage floor, next to the wall and garage door. Perfect! And the starting access point for the drill machine was the sidewalk adjacent to the driveway. Total time when drilling and attatching the new line when withdrawing the drill bit, was ten minutes. The sidewalks in the neighborhood are patchwork because of the natural gas line rework every house has. So it matches what the gas company has done. I realize for some people trenchless isn't the way, because there not protecting nice work from others. I couldn't be happier in every aspects of their craftsmanship. Thank you ***** the salesrep and the installers ***** and ****. When done. After total time was alittle over one day. Today is Friday. And i didnt get the bid untill weds. Thursday at 10am, i gave ***** half down payment and they didnt started untill yesterday around 11:30 and friday at 12:30 there rolling outa here swept up and monday there concrete guy is finishing the sidewalk and the 30x30 inch saw cut in the ************ hope to take them out on my jet boats for some great fishing on Puget sound and on the cowlitz river for some great fishing. Awesome!! job you guys. You rock! *****
