Purchased an AS IS vehicle with a rebuilt title for $2500 on 9/29/2023, a Friday. On Monday I went to my DMV and paid my sales tax and licensed the vehicle. August 6, 2024 the *** phones to tell us they have never received the paperwork from the dealer and if not received we will not be able to register the vehicle come October 1, 2024. Phoned the dealer, spoke to ****, who stated the *** lost the paperwork, however he could not provide a tracking number for the paperwork. He stated he would need to research. 8/29/24 DMV states still have not received paperwork. 8/30/24 Called PM Auto again and am told they are not able to get a duplicate because ***** issued a title. I phoned the Bonner County DMV and they stated the title would be rescinded. Again PM Auto Sales stated they would go back to the auction they bought the vehicle from to get a title. 9/2 was a holiday so I waited until 9/11/24 to call back. When I phoned I asked to speak to **** and some man gets on the phone and has an attitude from the start. He asks like he has no clue of what I am speaking about, which I find odd since he was supposedly the person I had been dealing with. I stated that as a dealer it is their responsibility to get the title paperwork to the *** in a timely fashion. Believe WA state law states 45 days WAC ********** WAC 308-56A-420. This man I later find out is named ****, proceeds to scream into the phone that if I am going to be argumentative that he will draw this out and I will have have to wait even longer to get my title. What kind of professionalism is this, screaming and trying to intimidate your customer who has not been provided a title in almost 365 days!!!!!! I am hoping the state will be able to force them to provide what is legally required for me to title my vehicle. The county continues to call PM Auto Sales but they are now not answering the phone.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because PM Auto Sales was informed in August 2024 that we had an issue with the title and because of their unprofessionalism this has escalated. In their response they claim I called them crooks and thieves, may have thought this but was not verbalized. Possibly thinking of someone else they did wrong.
It is unfortunate that this dealer feels it is acceptable to down talk and honestly flat out being rude to customers who are trying to complete a transaction that they didn't handle right to begin with. Why wouldn't you track title paperwork being sent to a DMV in another state? PM Auto claims *** lost paperwork but has no tracking information. Really!
We made PM Auto aware that we needed assistance in August. It was after multiple contacts on my part, when one of their salesman screams into the phone that "I will drag this out if I continue to argue". Intimidation is not a good trait.
They are in the wrong, they are rude and by law are required to provide a title in a timely fashion. A reputable dealer would not speak to customers in this manner.
Wonder how long it truly takes to get a title compared to how long it will take me to receive my title.
Monday, October 1st I will not be able to drive my vehicle and this is not acceptable.
Now the dealer states they are waiting to receive a duplicate title from the auction they bought it from. Understandable however how long should this take?
Such an unfriendly mess. Almost makes one afraid to respond in fear of this dragging out but I'm not one to stand for injustice and everyone should know how PM Auto Sales conducts business.
Sincerely,
******** *****Initial Complaint

On 6/8/24 i bought a used 04 **** focus with ******* miles on it. The owner told me it had a damaged motor mount, needed a rearview mirror and had no other issues. Turns out the entire underbody was rusted to the point that it was missing bolts in the steering rod and that rod was cutting through my connecting rod from the car to the tire. In other words completly unrepairable and with 1 hard bump on the road my driver side tire wouldve ripped off and i wouldve been gravely injured since i drive on the freeway and had no clue of the issue. The tow truck i had take that peice of garbage away told me pm auto screwed others because he has picked up multiple of their cars in similar condition from recent buyers. His warranty is airtight so i have no recourse but he sold me a car that couldve killed me and my kids. He has done it before and will do it again, you are the only one who can make sure nobody gets hurt from this mans criminal incompitence. We want to see nobody else waste months of effort on a car that shouldve been thrown into the scrap heap.Business Response

I paid for a truck in full and i cash on March 8,2024. Pm auto sales still had a lien on my truck 90 days later on June 4, 2024. They threatened to never transfer the title and that they would see me in court. This is in direct violation of washington dealer act. They have 45 days to transfer title in my name. I have receipts and audio recordings to prove all of this. Pm auto sales needs to be held accountable. I paid the licensing fees and sales tax upfront. Then they agreed to transfer title on june 4th if i pay the title transfer fee. This is completely illegal and they need to be held accountable, please!Business Response
