This disappointment started before North Seattle Transmission, but is related:This experience needs to be shared as I'm still have a bad taste left in my mouth:Preventative maintenance brought me into Chucks Auto Repair on ********** I had a code for torque converter.(Knowing this) **** of Chucks Auto tells me that they'll run a diagnostic on the truck and see what the problem is. It's gonna cost you $130 and if we can't fix it/figure it out then we'll at least do that much worth of work on it. and something about it will go towards your **** if we end up working on it. That's our procedure...(peculiar).I come back and it turns out, the torque converter's bad. "And we don't do that, can't guarantee it, need to go to a ****** shop"..... Huh? they send me up to N. Seattle Transmission, where I learn is right next to ***************************** ..Hm. So I go in there assuming a continuation of ****** "Diagnostic" because these guys "Do this sorta thing" So I take the truck up there, saw they were busy so was I, so I just gave ******* my key and left the diagnostic on the seat. I'm thinking ok these guys will read it because they know each other well enough to "refer me" to them, they're next to each other with the shiniest buildings on the block. But No. North Seattle transmission starts all over with the same result and wants to charge me $150 for, what is now common knowledge with all parties from their own code reader. I asked her if she saw this as odd, and how many other people have you got lined up depending on my stupidity? Then won't give me my keys until I sign a Permission to perform form (which I was supposed to be given beforehand as acknowledgment that they're going to work on my truck and it'll probably cost money. Not even brought up. wouldn't call a manager and just waited me out. **** at Chucks auto should have told me during the initial email conversation, that we don't do that sorta thing, how you go on up to the transmission shop. That would've been the ethical thing to do. *******...knew I was right, but couldn't empathize because she was on the clock.*UpDate* Found a Transmission shop in **** that didn't charge for a diagnostic, and fixed it for $1500 less. Thanks Central Transmission for cleaning some of the bad taste left in my mouth.*******************
