I have been in my house for 2 years. I had a very detailed inspection prior to purchasing my home and have had 2 previous chimney cleanings and never been told that there was anything wrong with any part of my chimney or box. I scheduled a routine chimney sweep in October. The service guy came out and immediately tried to scare me by telling me my chimney was in danger of collapse and I needed the crown rebuilt, counter flashing, tac pointing, and a deep clean, the usual annual cleaning cost I was quoted, $99 wouldn't work because my chimney and box was too dirty. That didn't ring true, I had just had it cleaned in November the year before. He said I would need to pay $200 (double the quoted cost). The service guy kept pressing me to purchase all of these services or I was going to loose my chimney and it will cost me $15,000 or more to fix it, not to mention the roof damage. I kept telling him I wasn't comfortable with what he was telling me. He kept pushing. I finally agreed the services he was pushing. I was charged $1,900. There was no receipt given. Not sure how he came up with that amount. He only did 1 thing, he put a very thin layer mortar on the crown and left the tube on my roof so I was able to see exactly what he used. He said he charged me a percentage of the other services and that he would have to come back to do those other items. He didn't call me to schedule and didn't come back. After waiting several days, I decided I didn't want anything to do with this company. I wanted my money back. I tried talking to his manager, ***. I was told the guy who came to my home was no longer with the company. *** wouldn't believe me that the service guy only did one of the the items he listed. If you fired someone why would you believe that person and not a new customer? No refund to date. It is now Jan 2023. $1,900 is a lot of money for me, single income. I pleaded with *** to do the right thing. Very disappointing! Do not use, dishonest!
