It has been a terrible experience working with All West Logging and Land Management. ***** ******* came to our property in the summer of 2024 to look at our timber, cashed our $450 check the next day, and assured us he would handle the permit with DNR and order a timber harvest boundary survey. However, after many months of silence, we were finally able to track him down. When we requested a refund, he claimed it was a process and that he needed to get reimbursed by DNR first. After contacting DNR, we discovered that no permit application had ever been submitted, and no fee was paid (DNR cant take payment without an application to process). When confronted with this, ***** became defensive, falsely claiming we couldnt request a refund from *** for the money he paid, and later promised to have his accountant reimburse us in full. Now, he refuses to refund our money and is accusing us of misconduct. All he did was cash the check and did none of the work, lied about the progress of permit, never contacted the surveyor, and ingnored us for over a year, and now is reneging on the refund he promised us. ******* Contact number is ************

I already explained that there is no reimbursement for work done. The customer is making false statements. He misrepresented his property lines in order to manipulate us into logging timber that did not belong to him. Because we were not able to verify the lines from a plat map from ************** we could not proceed with the permit application and at that point our work hours exceeded the deposited amount of $450.00. The *** does not owe him any money and neither does All West Logging.

I appreciate your efforts.  I reject the response because:

I appreciate the opportunity to clarify the facts regarding my experience with All West Logging and Land Management. ***** ******* response contains several inaccuracies and misrepresentations that I would like to address:

***** ******* met with me on July 16, 2024.  ***** ******* cashed my check the following day on July 17, 2024 ( memo line states "logging permit").  There was no verbal or written contract and we did not hire him to perform services on an hourly basis.  When ***** ******* met with me he had the *** permit application in hand.  We sat at my kitchen table for 10 minutes while he gathered some information.  ***** ******* told me he would take the application and fill in the rest.  He said as soon as I saw the red ribbons tied on our trees, I would know things were starting to happen with the boundary survey.  ***** ******* left, and I never heard from him again, until I tracked him down on April 9, 2025.

      No Permit Application Was Submitted
***** originally assured us that he would handle the permit process with the ************************************************ (***). However, after months of silence, we contacted *** directly and confirmed that no permit application had ever been submitted, nor had any payment been made.
***** previously claimed he needed reimbursement from *** before refunding us, but *** confirmed that they cannot accept payment without an application. This contradicts his explanation.

      Misrepresentation of Work Done
***** now claims that our $450 deposit was used for multiple site visits at a rate of $80 per hour. However, at no point was it communicated that the deposit would be consumed in this manner. The agreement was for him to submit a permit application and flag the timber harvest boundaryneither of which were completed.
If the deposit was intended to cover hourly work, a detailed invoice should have been provided, which we never received.

      False Accusations Against Me
***** alleges that I misrepresented my property boundaries to manipulate him into logging timber that did not belong to me. This is completely false.
Regardless of any boundary concerns, the core issue remains: ***** failed to submit the permit application as promised and refused to refund our money.

Failure to Communicate and Honor Refund Promise
***** ignored us for months, forcing us to track him down. When confronted, he falsely claimed that we could request a refund from ***.
After being proven wrong, he then promised to have his accountant reimburse us in full. Now, he refuses to honor that commitment and is instead accusing us of misconduct.

Conclusion ***** ******* failed to provide the services he promised, refused to refund our money, and has now resorted to making false accusations against me. I stand by my original complaint and urge others to exercise caution when dealing with this company.

I request that the BBB retain my review as an accurate reflection of my experience and continue to pursue a resolution.

      Sincerely,

      ****** ******

I told the customer what he would be charged for the ***. He agreed to have me start the process  by writing me a check.  Is that not obvious? I am available by email every day. However I do not answer the phone during work hours for safety reasons as I am operating heavy equipment,  I am a logger. We cut down trees, it is dangerous,  and I did not receive any missed calls from Mr. ******* The deposit was for the flagging of his property boundaries, The only reason we were unable to do so was because the customer did not give accurate information as to the whereabouts of his property corners. I did provide a detailed cost breakdown when he asked for a refund.

      Business Response

      Date: 08/01/2025

I have already responded to this complaint. Here is my response again. I was hired by ****** ****** to turn in a Forest Practice Application with the State of ********** for his property. This is a permit application for Logging. The first step in the process is to flag the harvest timber boundaries, this is required before the actual application can be submitted. We charge customers for this service, the charges vary depending on property size and the complexity of the permit. For example an FPA that we have just completed and have back approved now was on a property that had a fish bearing stream and potential unstable slopes on it. That permit cost the landowner 3 times what we charged ****** because it was much more complex. In Mr. ******* case the charge was the minimum, however after doing the ground work we were unable to verify his property lines because we feel that he misrepresented them for the purpose of encompassing timber that did not belong to him. We do not offer a refund for services already performed. I explained this to him and his response was to demand a refund by threatening me with a  false complaint to the BBB. We may file charges of Slander and Defamation of Character.

      Complaint: 23294267

I am rejecting this response because: We engaged the services of All West Logging in good faith, based on the understanding that they would assist in submitting a DNR permit application for our property. At no point did we misrepresent our property boundaries. If there were uncertainties or concerns regarding the boundaries that Mr. ******* referenced,we would have expected All West Logging to communicate those clearly before proceeding with any work.
While we understand that fees may vary based on complexity, the issue here is not the amount charged, but the fact that the service was not completed as promised. The application was never submitted. We never heard from All West Logging again once they cashed our check. In such cases, it is reasonable to request a refund.
All West Loggings threat to pursue legal action for slander or defamation is noted, but I assure you that our complaint is based on our genuine experience and is within our rights as consumers. We have documented all communications and will continue to pursue resolution through appropriate channels.
We are demanding a $450 refund. All West Logging continually changes their story and adds untrue details to embellish their response. This is our final demand prior to pursuing legal action.
We sincerely appreciate all the efforts made by the BBB to resolve this issue on our behalf.

      Sincerely,

      ****** & ******** ******

We appreciate the opportunity to respond and clarify the current status of this complaint.

Despite previous assurances from ***** ******* of All West Logging and Land Management Corporation, the matter has not been resolved. We paid $450 in good faith for services that were never initiated. Mr. ******* assured us he would handle the *** permit and order a timber harvest boundary survey. However, after months of no communication, we discovered through direct contact with the ******************************* (***) that no permit application was ever submitted and no payment was made.

When confronted with this information, Mr. ******* initially claimed he needed to be reimbursed by *** before issuing a refundan assertion that *** confirmed was false, as no application or payment had been received. He later promised that his accountant would issue a full refund, but that has not occurred. Instead, he has since refused to refund the money and has made unfounded accusations against us.

      To date:
      No permit was filed.
      No surveyor was contacted.
      No services were rendered.
      No refund has been issued.

We are requesting the BBBs continued assistance in resolving this matter. Our desired outcome remains a full refund of $450 for services that were never provided.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

      Sincerely, ****** and ******** ******

We do not offer any surveying services. We never offered any services to ****** ****** other than marking out the timber harvest boundry as we are required to do by the *** in order to submit the application for Harvest Permit. ********* gave us false information about his property corners and we were unable to further the process with DNR. At that point the burden of proving the property corners that he indicated is on him as the property owner. We did the preliminary work that he paid for and because of his false statements and misrepresentations we were unable to obtain an approved Permit with the ***. There is no refund available for work already performed.

      Complaint: 23294267

I am rejecting this response because:

We appreciate the opportunity to clarify the current status of this complaint.
Despite multiple attempts to resolve the matter directly with All West Logging and Land Management Corporation, the issue remains unresolved. In the summer of 2024, ***** ******* visited our property, accepted a $450 payment, and committed to initiating a timber harvest permit with the ******************************* (DNR) and ordering a boundary survey. However, no permit application was ever submitted, no surveyor was contacted, and no services were rendered.
Importantly, there was no formal contract signed, nor did we agree to any hourly rate or time-based service arrangement. The payment was made with the clear understanding that it covered the full scope of the promised servicesnot partial or preliminary work. Mr. ******* accepted the payment and assured us that he would handle the necessary steps to begin the timber harvest process.
When we followed up, Mr. ******* claimed he needed reimbursement from *** before issuing a refund. *** confirmed that no application or payment had been received, and that refunds are not issued without a submitted application. Mr. ******* later promised a full refund through his accountant, but has since refused to honor that commitment and has made unfounded accusations against us.
      To date:
      No work has been performed.
No permit or survey was initiated.
      No refund has been issued.
We respectfully request the BBBs continued involvement to help facilitate resolution. Our desired outcome remains a full refund of $450 for services that were never provided.

      Sincerely,
