In January 2019, Sunset Air and Heating ***** ** installed a Carrier Infinity **** Gas furnace at my residence. Cost approximately $4,800. This furnace replaced a previous Carrier high efficiency gas furnace also installed by Sunset Air and Heating, *****, **. The first furnace was replaced because the heat exchange part was cracked. On 01 February 2022, a service person from Sunset Air and Heating arrived to perform a maintenance check. He found that the heat exchange part on the gas furnace is cracked - which has resulted in a release of carbon monoxide into the home. The gas to the furnace was shut off - thus no heat. I spoke with ***, the Parts Manager. He stated that it would cost me approximately $1,600 to have the part replaced. I then spoke with ******** the Service Manager, he also stated that I would have to pay for the replacement part. So: Sunset Air and Heating has installed two Carrier high efficiency gas furnaces and the heat exchange part has cracked in both furnaces!!! The most recent only THREE YEARS after purchase!!! Either Carrier furnaces are a subpar product and/or the the furnace/heat exchange part was installed incorrectly. There is no other manager at Sunset Air and Heating, *****, ** that I can speak with about this issue.
