1 starScammed me too. Same thing. Said they represented ******. Cleaned my computer $699. Guaranteed for 6 years. Then when hacked again charged $199. Then contacted me and said that antivirus was not enough. I needed protection on my modem. $1400. Said he was not a salesperson, but a technician. Could only tell me what I needed, then proceeded to try to sell me software. They would not take credit card, had to send checks.

It is unfortunate that I was unable to respond to this complaint in a timely manner. I have been overseas on a family emergency for the past several days.
Since we were not given customer information, it has not been possible for us to track the interaction, if any, that our company had with this customer. But I can tell you the following. 1) We do not "cold call" customers, they contact us through marketing channels, such a ****** Ads. 2) We only initiate a follow-up call to assure the customer is satisfied with the service and product (software) for which we have provided a registration code. 3) Our technical staff is not equipped to take on the role of sales, that is a different department of the company. 4) Finally, we quit accepting checks some time ago due to customer fraud.
Again, it is unfortunate that the "customer" was mistreated. If we had more specific information, such as the name and email we could track though our electronic records to determine is there is some flaw in our security systems. What has been described is far outside the norms of our company processes.

I have canceled checks: $699.99 dated 2-11-25for 6 years protection; $199.00 dated 8-2-25 for tech work. The person that contacted me last 10-21-25 stated he was a senior technician and not in sales but quoted me priced for 1 yr, 2yrs and lifetime for firewall protection.Review fromDiane Q

1 starI was scammed and unfortunately let scammer have remote to my bank account. My bank closed account required proof my PC was professionally "cleaned".Byteskart is on my computer, i pay for the support, 07/04/2025 i made contact. *** uninstalled some programs and rearranged, or deleted unneeded thumbnails. He told me I would be charged $200 for **** to "clean " my laptop and it would take ***** minutes. **** was on the call and "cleaning " was a few minutes.*** informed me I needed Malware in addition to antivirus.installed it on my PC. I paid $435 by ******. $200 for "computer work" and Malwarebytes. Byteskart site WATCHDOG lifetime was on sale for $399. *** tried to sell for $599. Best Buy had Malwarebytes for *****. Overcharged ********* bank refused to accept "computer work" receipt as proof my PC was safe for online banking. "Computer work" isn't proof of anything. I called *** , asked for refund of $******** wouldn't accept it as proof of safe computer. Very unpleasant. Advised me take my PC to bank, run ******* for them to prove no virus. Bank suggested Best Buy , they provide a certificate of PC safety. PROOF. Only $100. . *** said my bank was getting kickbacks from BB for suggesting them to me.. I asked for $169.99 I was overcharged for Malwarebytes. I wanted my $200 refund for USELESS "computer work". I had been charged for. *** very angry, unpleasant. Called me a freeloader repeatedly. I wanted my money back but for $*****, or price Best Buy offered Malwarebytes that was currently on my PC.I was traumatized by the scammers who threatened me, almost succeeding in scamming me. Then I had ***. Treating me, a client with such disdain, disrespect, and calling me derogatory names. Plus he tried to scam me into buying Watchdog for $300 more than advertised on their site. $169 more for Malwarebytes.He said I needed Malwarebytes because anti virus only blocks computer virus.Not true,Byteskart is a pack of scammers.Byteskart LLC
