    As a customer/patient wearing a cardio life vest from Kestra Medical, I have mixed reviews. Regarding reliability of its life vest, I defer to qualified medical personnel. I had three cardio arrests, within 2 days, after having unrelated back surgery. While in the intensive care, I was informed I was not an immediate candidate for an internal "pacemaker." Alternatively, I would be fitted for an external wearable defibrillator life vest provided by Kestra Medical, monitored by Assure.While still in a state of vulnerability and an at-risk patient, I was introduced to the Kestra product by a company representative. The pros and cons of the device were explained to me. As a senior citizen on a fixed income, I was concerned about the associated costs. I have a Medical ******************* which typically covers 80% of such devices. I explained the prohibitive cost and burden this would place on me. The representative advised me my Cardiologist highly recommend I wear this device for 90 days to monitor my heart condition. Moreover, she stated the Company/Kestra understands the cost and works closely with the patient to lessen the burden. The representative further stated the company has a program to assist seniors in similar situations and implied Kestra often provides the device at "no individual costs" accepting insurance coverage as full payment. Under this circumstance, I agreed. A few months passed and I received a bill from Kestra for approximately $600.00 dollars. I contacted the Company billing department who apologized for any apparent misunderstandings. After a review by Kestra, I was told my portion due (after insurance coverage) was $362.20 As a gesture of "goodwill" the billing department offered a 25% discount providing, I pay in full. I promptly paid this amount to satisfy my obligation. Yes, eventually my individual costs were lowered. However, I feel I was misinformed, by the representative. Awareness!
