Invoice dated 9/6/2024.I am requesting a breakdown for inv. ***** (personal) in the amount of $434.56. The Office Manager refused to provide me with a written breakdown of this invoice for insurance purposes. She said they do not keep record of personal pick up. I have a claim pending and need to submit this bill for reimbursement. The ** was extremely unhelpful, rude and yelled at me for not getting the yellow sheet from the driver.. The tow driver was very accommodating and advised me that I could get a breakdown from the office, if needed. My insurer said that I need a breakdown. A copy of the invoice is attached to this complaint.Furthermore, I had no other choice but to use a credit card to have my 2025 ***** CR-V towed and now I am being charged 3.5% to the enormous expense. My car was moved less than 10 miles. The resolution for my complaint is to get an itemized billing from **** Towing and I recommend that **** Towing provide customer service training to office staff!

We responded to call from ***********************, we cleared the scene and towed *** Days vehicle to where she requested, at that time of payment the driver asked if she wanted a paper copy on the invoice, she decided to only receive the electronic charge slip of the transaction.  *** Day the calls us 2 months later wanting the paper invoice for her insurance claim. I explained we cannot recreate an invoice since they are numbered. Since the charge slip does not include the break down, I offered to have her insurance call and ask for me & I would break it down for the insurance company. *** Day did not like this answer. I cannot recreate a driver's invoice. She made the decision to not take it and the time. She was also told about the 3.5% credit card fee that would be charged to her from merchant services for using her card. It is a very common fee (gas stations, grocery stores, on-line shopping...) that the providers charge for using her card. There will be no itemized bill forthcoming.  Again, We are willing to have the insurance Co. call us and we will break down the bill for her.

I am rejecting this response because: The response is not in accordance with what a general consumer would know about a company; that Lynn's Towing does not keep any breakdown of invoices. In no way was I told by the driver that when we obtain a copy of the billing via email that the billing would not come with a breakdown. This is not a good business practice and procedures, therefore, should not be acceptable in any State or County. The consumer in general is not protected from Lynn's Towing for charging whatever they please and does not account for their cost.

It seems that Lynns Towing has records about the accident but refuses to provide a breakdown to me.  The timeframe for my request was not unreasonable as I navigate through the claim process. I am requesting a breakdown of the bill from Lynns Towing letterhead so I may conclude my claim. PLEASE NOTE THAT MY INSURANCE COMPANY REQUESTED THAT I OBTAINED THIS INFORMATION IN WRITING FROM LYNNS TOWING.

The office manager does not care about providing reasonable customer service and was rude and shouting at me because I asked for this information 7 weeks after the towing.

      Sincerely,

      **** ***

On 8/26/2024 my car was impounded for being in a fire lane at a friends residence where parking is a jam and while conversing with this friend my vehicle was hooked up with my rear wheels off the ground my husband a African American male agreed to pay the fee to drop the vehicle or unhook it as he had a legal meeting to be at a hour from this incident the tow truck driver a Younger Caucasian male refused to drop his vehicle after being informed of my husbands situation so my husband got upset and sat in his car until a very rude ****** police officer showed up and forced my husband out of my vehicle where then my husband records this young Caucasian male drag my vehicle until he notices he didnt put the dolly on the front wheels and the car was still in park I own a 2002 dodge neon which is front wheel drive which should not be towed without all four wheels off the ground while in the parked position i believe this may have caused massive transmission damage to my vehicle and would like to receive my vehicle back at no expense to me for inspection as the tow truck driver is the reason why my car got improperly towed in the first place when my husband offered to pay the drop fee

      Business Response

      Date: 09/03/2024

The car was called in by property staff to tow car out of firelane and remove off property. ****** was pulled out of service for additional  time due to irrate owner who decided to sit in vehicle while police were dispatched. Time accumulated as we could not finish tow until owner was removed from the car by the police after waiting for awhile. Customer admits to parking illegally in firelane and that they were also upset hence sitting in there time until thebpolice showed up. The car was towed out of Burien also acknowledged by the owner NOT Seattle and rates were followed per the *** rate sheet that is filed with the court. The car was dollied and transported safely, customer is looking for retribution because they were towed and are unhappy.

I am rejecting this response because:
Regardless of validity of the tow the tow truck driver refused to let my husband pay the drop fee so that the calling of law enforcement wouldnt have been necessary and this situation could have been avoided however I do know that paying the drop fee on a vehicle is totally the tow truck operators discretion and since the operator refused Im pretty sure he was discriminating because my husband got in my vehicle and refused to get out at which he had a legal meeting to attend which he notified the tow truck operator of long before law enforcement arrived. at this point I would really like my vehicle to be release to me at no expense to me that is if my vehicle is still driveable
      Sincerely,

      Business Response

      Date: 09/12/2024

In response to your request, we will have to decline. You were correct on 1 item; it is up to the tow truck driver for the availability of a drop fee. When a male jumps into the vehicle in question after its hooked up to the tow truck and refuses to exit the vehicle, ******* and escalating the situation, that would count as "being hostile". That would qualify the driver to not except a drop fee. After multiple attempts to have him exit the vehicle by the driver, leasing agent and assistant manager, law enforcement was then called. After the officer arrived and the male still would not exit, he was given 2 choices. either exit or get arrested. The important thing to know is it was not THEIR vehicle. It was not registered in either of their names. The officer nor our driver could not release it to the male. The next day the female transferred it into her name and was able to redeem a few belongings out of the car. I have all the documents if she would like to see them. So, for this matter this vehicle will NOT be released without payment in full.

      Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:
The driver or Authorized driver jumped into the vehicle AFTER being denied the opportunity to pay a drop fee so he wasnt late to a very important legal matter that he had to be in person in Federal way WA which he informed the driver of and feels as if he was racially targeted by the tow truck operator who clearly abused his power to deny accepting the drop fee which is a serious matter as it related to his freedom thats when he allegedly got hostile and refused and thats when law enforcement was called and unnecessary time was taken up that could have been prevented by him just accepting the money he normally would charge to drop the car however I have received a slip for the vehicle to be auctioned off on 9/17/2024 if $1,919.14 isnt payed before then which I most likely will not be able to pay and need the vehicle to get to and from work so with all the stress and who did what and whatnot i would like my vehicle to be released to me at no expense to me with the promise that this will never happen again considering the fact that Lynns towing company could indeed have some biased employees/tow truck operators performing unreasonably acts to steal peoples vehicles which in my case really affects my life because its how I make money
      Sincerely,

The police called **** towing @ 10:52 **** towing says they got the call at 9:30. I believe this it theft. When i question them they told me they had to wait for the police to process the car for fingerprints and put the car back in my name. This is a complete joke. I will also file a complaint with the state patrol. They towed the car for *************************************** 2 hours. I was notified by Lynns Towing that they had my car AFTER they already sold it. They would not honor police report of theft and also said Im responsible for the theft of my vehicle and are trying to collect an additional **** dollars on top of whatever they made from the auction of the leased vehicle. **************** complaint is invalid. **************** reported her vehicle stolen. The **************** recovered it on 4/4/2023. After unable to reach ****************, they called us to impound vehicle for safekeeping. We mailed out a notification to **************** on 4/5/2023, as per RCW ***** as the law requires to the legal owner of vehicle and to the address on DOL listed title. We then mailed out a Certified Mailing to **************** on 4/10/2023, informing her we will hold the vehicle for 21 days only and then will sell at the Abandoned vehicle auction, again in accordance with RCW *****. No contact from registered owner was ever made to us until the vehicle was sold on 4/25/2023. Ms. ************************* was at $2085.30 at the time of auction, it brought $1000.00 which was applied to her outstanding invoice, so she had 10 days to pay, or make arrangements. Again, after no contact from **************** it was sent to collection agency on 07/09/2023. **************** still has an outstanding bill owing of $1085.30. All steps were in compliance with WSP rules and regulations. We have all documentations to prove date stamps and law enforcement's authorization. **************** account will be at collection agency until she decides to pay. Any question please  contact us. The problem is the tow trucks themselves. I know who the driver is, put Ive taken pictures of this truck before. Matched the licensed plate and notice its the same truck. Some guy, who Ive seen parked in handicap locations at groceries stories of Ive seen parked in random locations in front of peopless cars and blocking truck, this tow truck needs to be towed itself. Licensed C37103Z. I dont mind filing for the state and IRS about a business doing illegal activity. Because illegal parking and dumping is not safe. I dont care if its a tow truck company youre not exempt from the law.

The email did not make a lot of sense but the part I understood was about drivers parking in handicap spots. I've talked to all my drivers and talked to everyone about parking in handicap spots without a handicap placard displayed.

On Jan 2, my car was towed from maple crossings apartments, due to the car not being moved for three days. I drive my car everyday showing its not abandoned or broke down. I was away due to a family crisis and returned to find my car had been towed, called to pay the bill and was told my car had been sold that afternoon at the abandoned vehicle auction. My car had been at the tow yard for 20 days without my knowledge and sold without me knowing, without my consent without my agreement and I was told there was nothing I can do. I was given no chance to even be informed my car was towed resulting of being out of town. My car has been towed by this company one other time because I parked in a reserved spot and forgot to move my car by accident. I paid almost $800 and filled out paper work with my contact information that is supposed to go on file. My number, my email, and so on. Why is it I never received a phone call or an email leading up to this company selling my car ? No acknowledgment whatsoever to be informed or given a chance to stop my vehicle from basically being stolen from me. As being a customer with the company from a prior incident. My information should of been stored on file given access to my contact information to inform of not only the tow but also the warning of selling my vehicle. And I got nothing. My 2008 328xi *** I paid for all by myself is now gone. I was robbed and my car stolen from me this company is beyond fraudulent and unprofessional.Im looking to get my vehicle back or a refund to replace it.

      Business Response

We impounded ****************** vehicle on 1/3/2023 per management from her complex for non-movement. Verified address on the title from DOL and king county's sheriff ***** On 1/4/2023 mailed out a 24hr notice to *****************  On 1/7/2023 **************** called after hrs. to redeem her vehicle at that time her ph.# was captured. On 1/9/2023 **************** was sent a certified mailing explaining her options and if refuses to redeem it will be sold at the abandoned vehicle auction per RCW ***** on 01/24/203. After the auction was over on 1/24/2023 **************** then calls to inquire about the vehicle and was told it sold at auction that morning, the auction house will by later with the amounts.

We have followed the ** laws to the letter, we have all Documents and copies if you would like to review them. **************** was well aware of where her vehicle was located, and how to redeem it. We will NOT be issuing a refund and providing funds for a new vehicle for ****************. She actually still has a balance with Lynn's towing that will be going to collections in the next 9 days.

I had my car towed this morning, I came to pick it up from Lynns towing in **** and seen that my vehicle was damaged. I went inside and asked for assistance they said they cant do nothing about it to take it to the higher *** I then ask can I please get a number to reach. They give me a email. I ask whos email they said ************ asked for ****** last name they said we cant give that to you I asked why and they said because he dont want anyone to know his last name that is the most unprofessional business Ive ever heard of to not be able to give a general managers last name that the workers themselves are telling me to contact. How would I know if its the right ***** without a last name thats one of the most common first names ever. I asked to see the before pictures of my car so I can show them there was no damage beforehand and they said no the pictures are company property I just want the damage they caused to my vehicle fixed, I have two daughters, it was already bad I paid $525 to get my car out, and to be disrespected because Im asking about it is so unprofessional. Please help however you can I just want my car fixed. They have video cameras all over the property plus before pictures of my car so it shouldnt be hard to figure out.

      Business Response

After reviewing the records from the tow and pictures, it is our belief that any damage to the customers vehicle would have been prior to the tow itself. We have advised the customer to reach out to their insurance to contact us directly and we can provide the proof of damages prior to the tow by both a damage report done at time of pickup including pictures.
