    I am submitting this complaint to document my experience with Washington Generators. In June 2025, I hired the company to diagnose a generator that would not start and showed error code 1505. Over more than three months and three service visits, the company gave me three different and incorrect diagnoses.During the first visit, the ********** said the starter motor had failed. After I purchased and installed a new starter motor (at my own cost), a second visit resulted in a different diagnosis: the control board. After replacing the control board, a third ********** said the problem was actually the starter relay. None of these parts fixed the issue, and at no point did any ********** perform basic testing that would confirm whether these components had actually failed. As a result, I spent more than $750 on unnecessary parts.I also experienced two same-day appointment cancellations and eventually stopped receiving responses to my calls and messages.After months of incorrect diagnoses, I ultimately discovered and fixed the actual problem myself. The cause was a bad battery connection a simple issue that should have been identified during the first ******** September 2025, I sent a detailed written request for a refund of the $531.98 I paid to Washington Generators for diagnostic services. The company never responded. I then disputed the charge with my bank. Washington Generators attempted to block the refund, but the bank ruled in my favor.I am filing this complaint for documentation purposes only. I am not requesting additional reimbursement. My goal is to ensure other consumers are aware of my experience and that the BBB has a record of the repeated misdiagnoses, lack of communication, and failure to provide the service I paid for.
