      I filed my taxes with this company on Oct 2022, paid for electronic and just found out 2023 it was never sent. Now I will have to pay fees for this !

      On April 11, 2022 I paid $19.95 for their tax preparation & filling services. My taxes were never filed with the *** and I did not discover this until I was filing 2023 taxes, and there was no record by the ***.

      Come to find out, IRS is stating my taxes were not even filed. I have proof of the payment made. There is no way to log into the sign or speak to someone for assistance. Worst decision I have ever made in my life. So much for filing taxes on my own for the first time. ****** learned.

      They advertise free federal and not free state. What they DON'T advertise ANYWHERE is that if you need to make an amended federal return, you will be forced to pay $15 with zero notice or time to prepare otherwise. Disgusting behavior. Imagine someone being incredibly stressed, trying to do something important in a hurry, and then ******* to them mid-way and demanding cash out of nowhere. They go above and beyond to hide this fee, intentionally, to ensnare stressed filers for easy money.

      First we show no return in our system under their email of ************************. Second, we do not charge for an amended return if they received a free original federal return, third if they did not receive a free federal return and they are then filing an amended federal return the cost is ***** not 15. It appears they are confusing us with some other company.

      I filed my `**** return online with FreeTaxReturns.com on 4/18/22, for year 2021. Today is 7/25/22. I have not received my refund OR a reply after calling and leaving multiple messages with FreeTaxReturns.com. When I call ************** the message says to log in and "submit your concern to our online support center and a customer representative will get back to you." Trouble is everytime after logging on and trying to do ANY FUNCTION their system sends me back to the log on page. Again, I have left numerous telephone messages with no return phone call. FreeTaxReturns.com is one of several agencies listed on irs.gov, to use for filing one's **** return. I am beyond disappointed and frustrated, and would appreciated assistance in getting my return and refund processed. Thank you.

      Please make sure when you are logging in that you are using the password you created for tax year 2021 and not 2020, or you can use the forgot password link on the login screen.

      I am rejecting this response because: My 1st complaint with BBB against FreeTaxReturns.com was filed on 7/25/22 (complaint case number ********). ON AND BEFORE 7/25/22, I WAS UNABLE TO GET A RESPONSE FROM FREETAXRETURNS.COM INC. WHEN LOGGING ONTO THEIR SITE, ************************************** FOR TAX YEAR 2021. I USED THE PASSWORD I CREATED FOR TAX YEAR 2021 AND NOT 2020. I got sick and was unable to reply to your BBB messages until now, November 2022. Today, 11/24/22 when logging onto ************************************** I get these three messages. 1. We are officially closed for business and are no longer accepting new users and are no longer 3-filing returns. If you need a copy of an already filed tax return see the *** site at www.irs.gov to request a transcript from the ***. 2. www.irs.gov Home screen says, *** Free File is Now Closed. Check back January 2023 to prepare and file your federal taxes for free. 3. Message from my web browser when I enter ************************************** You connection is not private. Attackers might be trying to steal your information from ************************************** . This server could not prove that it is **************************************; its security certificate expired 10 days ago. On and before 7/25/22 the *** had no record of my 2021 **** return being filed by ************************************** (AKA FreeTaxReturns.com) on my behalf. Question - What happened with the 2021 **** that I filed with **************************************? I look forward to receiving your reply.

      My husband and I electronically filed our 2021 federal taxes with this company recommended and promoted on the *** website on 3/23/2022. When we hadn't received our refund (5/25/2022), we went to freetaxreturns.com website to check the status of our refund. It stated that our return was rejected by the *** because "The Primary taxpayer's prior year AGI does not match *** records. To correct this see the efile signature screens after the review return screen." Per their instructions, this was done and the return was resubmitted 5/25/2022. Went back in on 6/9/2022 to check the refund status and had the same message as before. Used their "help/support" option to ask what was going on and received the response "You do not use the corrected amount, you use the amount from the original return." As instructed, we did this following all instructions. On 6/23/2022 we again went in to check the status and received the same message as before. We again asked their "help/support" what was going on and asked for advice and received the response "The reason is what is shown to you." All correspondence is via their message center (email) and extremely vague and of no solution whatsoever. The phone # listed for this company goes straight to voice mail to which we have left countless messages for a return call and have received none. In investigating complaints from others regarding this company there are many complaints and non-resolution issues of the same problems we are having. Our tax return is still sitting in cyberspace due to this company's inept handling of services.

      Our company is not the ones rejecting the return the *** are the ones rejecting the return. We can only report what the *** tells us which is what is shown to the user when they login. We have responded to all questions asked in our support center and if they are still having issues they need to use the support center so we can help resolve their issues.

      We have tried several times to ask for help in resolving the issue as to why our return was rejected. We did everything you told us to do exactly to the letter. We asked HOW to fix the problem. NO solutions were offered.

      I filed my federal and state taxes with this company. BUT, on my Form **** with my federal tax refund, there must've been an error in the system that incorrectly typed in my bank account number that forced my refund to not reach me and the *** accepted it. I know that the typo wasn't on my end because I had to only enter my bank account information once for the state AND federal tax returns, but only the federal tax return had parts of my bank account number missing. My state tax ********************** had my bank account number correct, yet ********************** still claims that their system is functioning correctly and the error was done on my side. Please do something to resolve this issue, thank you.

      There was no issue with the software. As for the statement that you only entered your bank information once is not correct, you had to enter the bank information for the federal and then AGAIN for the state separately. The software does not change information that is entered by the user. The only way to correct misentered bank information is to contact the *** directly.

      I filed my 2018 federal tax return with FreeTaxReturns.com. I payed the tax of $501.00 to e *** that I owed. I just got a letter from the *** saying that my return was never filed by this company. When I went on their website to check the status of my 2018 return, there was no longer a way to sign in and check the website for my return. What is going on with this company? I've noticed other reviews also where the tax forms were not filed after paying their fee. This company needs to be stopped!!

      The tax year 2018 login screen needs to be used to login to tax year 2018 returns. Also all returns that users submit get transmitted to the *** and there is a possibility that a return can be rejected by the ***. The software also informs all users when they submit their return to login and check the status.
