My child was picked up from daycare with intentional adult injuries on both of his legs. The injuries were indicative of an adult digging their nails deep into his skin. The owner reviewed surveillance and fired the staff that was in contact with my child on the day of the injuries. During the review of surveillance, it was found that staff were not taking children outside daily, and potty-training children were not being toileted. There is also evidence of staff yelling at the children, pulling on arms, and yanking legs on children sitting up at naptime- to force them to lie down. I have discovered through the police investigation that the employee has a history of this behavior at a previous daycare, which tells me that PNWELC is not doing thorough background checks on their employees. Since this is the highest quality daycare facility in the area- I was open to the discussion of bringing my child back after staff replacement had taken place. The 2nd week after the incident, I asked about a timeframe on when to bring back my son to the facility. After I inquired about a timeframe on a return to care for my son, the owner stopped responding to texts, and phone calls. I find this disturbing and a huge insult to injury. This has greatly impacted our mental health and violates our family's inclusion in our area's quality childcare services.I would steer clear of this facility. They are happy to preach moral integrity but cannot uphold it when faced with adversity. This is not only unchristian but also not in line with the values of the Mental Health profession- the owner is a practicing LMHCA.
