    The first week of August ************************************************ ******, **. The house was built in 2000 and it was time to repaint, but as an elderly woman on a single teachers salary, cost was all important. I received a bid from ****** ***** dba WePaintedIt.com on 08:14/24 and he won the job with a bid of $6100 and agreement to start the job in 09/03/24 which allowed ample time to complete the painting this season. As requested, I paid WePaintedIt.com a 40% deposit of $2440 which was picked up at my house by ****** ***** on 08/15/24. Despite his promise to start on 09/03, the crew didnt come until the following week when they washed my home. Except for one more visit from the WePaintedIt.com crew on 09/26/24 when some rotten wood on two windows was replaced, I never saw the crew again. My thread of texts with owner ****** ***** grew very long as good weather passed us by, until finally on Oct. 15th, owner ****** ***** cancelled the job saying the weather had turned. He agreed in writing to refund my deposit of $2440 less $300 for window framing and approx. $300 for power wash (as quoted by other local painters). Despite his agreement, Mr. ***** has not returned my remaining $1840 and he has stopped communicating. Another painter has now assumed the job and I need my deposit returned immediately.

    We never put timeliness on exterior paint jobs as we can't control weather and other delays. We work by first come first serve. We book months in advance. We explained this to the customer. She contacted us late in the season and we gave no guarantee. We pressure washed to locate all rotten wood. I told her she has lots of rotten wood and it should be replaced. She refused and we really frown on painting rotten wood. We are in dispute on the amounts we are charging her. She feels she can dictate the prices. We have a open contract and may sue her for slander as she has posted unfair posts to social media. Thank you

    I am rejecting this response because:

    I have all communications WePaintedIt.com in text and email form, including an agreement to refund my deposit.  I have already spoken with a local real estate attorney, and my information case is sound.  Since this company refused to honor their agreement to paint the exterior of my home, I contracted another company that did the work even later in the season, and I am out of pocket a very significant amount.

    I will be contacting the ******************** office to seek financial redress on my behalf.
