      Viome establishes a recommended food list based more on answers to a health questionnaire rather than on the actual gut microbiome.Viome does not give a list of the bacteria, good or bad, found in the sample, nor their relative amounts, high or low.

      Viome's food recommendations consider all inputs our customer provides, including samples from their stool, blood, and saliva, as well as information the customer provides in our health questionnaire. Results from our metatranscriptomic analysis of a customer's stool, blood, and saliva are the main drivers and are given the highest priority when determining recommendations. However, information from the questionnaire is essential in tailoring recommendations and ensuring that we provide safe recommendations. For example, if a customer reports in their health questionnaire that they are allergic to peanuts, our system automatically recommends avoiding peanuts since Viome does not test for allergies/sensitivities.

      Your Viome results provide a list of all active microbes that we detect in your sample. This list includes bacteria, archaea, eukaryotes, probiotics, and viruses and can be found under "Your Active Gut Microbes".  We do not provide a relative abundance of these microbes as our test assesses the activities of microbes, which provides more useful information as to the impact your microbes are having on your health.

      Please note we ordered Viome, test results were received. Now we are trying to order the Viome supplements and they encourage us to purchase 3 months worth to ensure optimum health. Unfortunately, Viome insists that we have to purchase each month separately, and in separate packages. They do not care about the planet at all. We wanted to order our full 3 months now, in one package. After spending 45 minutes on the phone, they are not interested in doing this for us. There is no critical thinking here! Very disappointed that they do not care about the planet.

      Thank you for your feedback and we apologize for this experience. Currently, Viome supplements are typically sent on a monthly basis and for this reason each month is sent individually. We occasionally have customer's that want to order larger quantities and are actively working on a more efficient way to send these orders with less packaging involved. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue.

      I think it's a really neat concept makes sense for the average person who's just trying to optimize themself. However, I do not suggest purchasing this product if you have any health or digestive symptoms or concerns. (Although, interestingly, this seems to be the audience they are targeting.)I paid for the Viome test followed the recommendations and noticed minor improvements in some of the initial concerns I had that inspired me to take the test. However, when my symptoms largely continued, my Gastroenterologist ordered her own GI MAP test and uncovered that in fact I had SIBO, an H-pyori infection, leaky gut, and celiac disease (seemingly the underlying cause) meanwhile, Viome was putting bread and grains into my "enjoy" list. All of this is to say, it really made me thankful I decided to go to a doctor, despite already paying for this test because otherwise these problems would have never been identified and continued to be exasperated. As an entrepreneur and health professional myselfI love the concept and am in full support of businesses trying to put health and wellness knowledge and action into consumer's hands but it's a delicate line when you are positioning yourself as a medical solution and dealing with people's health. All of this is to say, I think they are onto something but not quite there yet. And as others have mentioned, it's fairly annoying that the (very expensive) test is basically used as a tool to sell you supplements.

      Thank you for your feedback. Viome does not test for these diseases or any food sensitivities/allergies and we do not replace the advise of a medical professional. Viome focuses on analyzing gene expression and your gut microbiome to understand how you are moving closer or away from optimal health and what nutrients your body will benefit from to address signs of trouble. Then, you receive Results & Recommendations including scores, food and supplements recommendations based on what we find. We provide the option of purchasing personalized supplements, but you can also source these on your own.

      I became a Viome customer in December 2022 and I believe in the technology. I found relief with my new diet and supplements. Unfortunately, Viome doesnt offer customer friendly options when problems arise. Managing my supplements has become too difficult. As a result, I am without them for several months which is forcing me to find more attractive alternatives.

      The implication that lack of payment was my fault is both offensive and misleading to others. Others need to know that after four months of reassurances your organization was incapable of taking a credit card payment through your third party site.

      Fraud alert!This is an honest review of Viome. Out of desperation, I have used Viome supplements for 8 months. Within 4 weeks of use my symptoms got worse. After 6 months, I retested. I was shocked that most of my results were getting worse than when I started using the supplements. Upon many calls and complaints I was told the company does not have a mechanism to compare the two tests and there are variables but they would not explain it to me. Their customer service is unprofessional, they read generic statements that are prepared by someone who knows how write nonsense. This company is dishonest, they want you to get hooked so that you keep buying supplements. My doctor even told me that this is all about making money, there is no test and supplement that can be individualized for each person. All this company knows is to take your money and take advantage of you. Do not be fooled by the ** on their website, it is a bunch of garbage. I wish I read the reviews before investing thousands of dollars. I DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.

      I would give no stars if that was an option. After inquiring on canceling an order was told I missed the return window by less than an hour. Okay I guess I will just continue on with the test send in samples upon receipt of samples was issued a partial refund. You have to email the company and wait days to hear back. Then told if I want to do the test again I have to pay full price and reorder. The absolute worst customer service experience ever experienced. 10 out of 10 do not recommend.

      The company uses deceptive advertising to try to get customers to sign up for their monthly subscription. They claim to give special customers free annual testing but the price of the kit is in the monthly subscription. Without the free kit monthly subscription is $149 with its $179 over the year you pay $320 for the kit. Which is not bad if it was not marketed as free. The vitamins are also not the best quality store bought products gave me better results.

      We offer a number of different subscriptions to our customers to meet individual needs, the *** Complete Plan does not include a free kit, but does lump in this cost to the monthly price with your supplements which some customers prefer. It is our goal to offer as many options as possible and we also have stand alone kits that you can purchase without supplements. You also do not have to purchase supplements from us and can buy these elsewhere if that is your preference. One of the many benefits of Viome supplements is that they are custom made with a specific formula just for you!

      Hello Viome team I purchased my first kit a year ago. When I went to purchase a new kit I was directed to a long infomercial video that stated it was a special offer for select customers. During the video a free kit was promised for customers that sign up for lifetime membership which you can cancel at any time. The video said you may be wondering how we can afford to provide a free kit every year and then it went on to discuss the companys commitment to providing a great product that positively impacts customers health. The call to action was sign up for your subscription now at a 10% every month if you wait to get your results you have to pay full retail price. There was never any mention of the cost of the kit being added to the subscription price. I this company is trying to do great things and advance microbiome research but just be transparent in your marketing and dont resort to these tactics people care about their health and will pay for it.

      I have $600 worth of supplements that I can't use and they don't have the cancel subscription option. My subscription resumes every couple of months. It took 25 mins of chatting with their team to cancel my subscription.

      Did the test, got my results, and decided to try the supplements. They were fine, but I could no longer take the supplements due to health changes. I paused my subscription since there was no cancel option. I thought my subscription was on pause until I got a notification that they were sending my next order. I tried contacting customer service to explain the mix up, but they kept saying I was the one confused because pausing only lasts for 45 days. This policy is not clear and they sent no reminder that my order would be processed soon. They said it was too late to cancel or refund my order ($150) but could credit my account $25 for the mix up. This business needs to do better

      Im sorry you had this experience. I have emailed you with the dates of the email notifications sent regarding the date the subscription would resume, a reminder notice, an alert about resuming and billing. It looks like it was the final email letting you know the subscription resumed that prompted your call to customer support. I am working with our internal team to see if we can make it even more apparent that the Pause feature is for 45 days although it is stated on the account when the pause is selected. We appreciate the feedback as were always striving to improve.
