During my recent dining experience at STK Steakhouse Bellevue on January 14 ****, upon receiving the check at the end of our visit, we were presented with a total amount of $2484.64, inclusive of a gratuity charge of $346.50. When seeking confirmation that this gratuity covered the servers' compensation, we were informed by the staff that servers only receive 25%, with the remainder allocated to the kitchen staff. Trusting this information, we authorized an additional payment of $150, bringing the total to $2634.64.Upon later verification with restaurant management, it was revealed that servers actually retain 95% of the gratuity, not the 25% initially stated. This realization raised concerns about intentional misinformation. In an effort to rectify the situation, I promptly requested the voiding of the initial payment transaction.Regrettably, the subsequent actions by the restaurant staff displayed either absolute incompetence or intentional misconduct. The check was reopened, and a new payment of $2484.64 was authorized. Shockingly, we discovered a few days later that the initial transaction was never voided, posted at $2634.64, and the second transaction exceeded the authorized amount at $2981.57.Despite multiple attempts to resolve this matter, including calls to the restaurant on January 16 and 17, as well as reaching out through the company website, no forward actions have been taken, and the unauthorized amount has not been refunded.While the impact of this situation has been deeply distressing, and my primary goal is to get refunded on unauthorized amounts, what is even more disconcerting is that STK Steakhouse, through their lack of responses and corrective actions, appears to indirectly support their staff's misconduct, deliberate misinformation, and the processing of unauthorized charges.
