We booked a cruise in 2022 with a group that advertised themselves as being part of the **** Gauguin. We selected our dates on ship and booked with the agent that the person representing **** Gauguin on the ship recommended. We were told this cruise would include this agent along with added perks and special tours, not just discounts. They sold an experience with private tours on our next trip which was scheduled for April ****. We learned a few weeks ago that the group has dropped the cruise and we will no longer be offered the private excursions that we were sold on the ship and with the travel agent. Learning of this change we tried to make either a cancellation or a change to the booking. We were not allowed to cancel because we booked with the group. However, the group they had on the ship dropped us and the cruise. Even though guests that are not part of a group they are allowed to make changes within the 180 day window, the company will not allow us to make any changes, cancel or change to another date. We understand things happen and we were willing to be flexible. **** Gauguin stated the reason we cannot make any changes was because we are part of a group, but we are no longer part of a group. We were willing to change our cruise dates since we were not going to receive what we were promised. However, the company will not make any exception for this change that is out of our control. We were not asking for a group rate on a future date, we just wanted to receive what we were promised which was an exclusive vacation with the added private tours an experiences. They cannot deliver on that so we would like to request a refund.At this point we will no longer be doing business with any of the companies affiliated with **** Gauguin.
