For five months running, I was assessed monthly charges of $5.99 for bill payment services which I never asked for and never received. For some reason, when I tried to pay a medical bill directly to the practitioner, I was forwarded to the doxo site and given the impression that, in order to pay the bill, I would have to pay for a doxo subscription. I don't believe that I authorized even the first payment. It's possible that I did however because I saw no other way to make the payment and I was fed up with trying. Eventually, I was able to make the payment directly to the practitioner. The practitioner representative said she had never heard of doxo and that the medical facility did not authorize them to have patients pay their bill through doxo.I contacted doxo, demanded an immediate refund, and said I intended to report this transaction, which I consider to be fraudulent, to the BBB, my bank and government agencies involved in fraud investigations. The company representative agreed to refund four of five of the payments that they had charged to my bank account. I was told that the fifth charge could not be refunded because doxo policy dictated that no more than four payments could be refunded. I did report the wrongful charges to my bank and filed a disputed transaction complaint. I have yet to report the fraud to the police or any other government agency.I think this company deserves a zero star rating.doxo Inc Response

Throughout the payment and account setup process, doxo emphasizes its third-party status by including the attached disclaimer: "doxo enables secure bill payment on your behalf and is not an affiliate of or endorsed by" your selected provider.
Upon reviewing your account, we found that when you opted for doxoPlus, you were not charged the $3.99 processing fee at the time of payment.
Our records indicate that you contacted our customer support team on April 15, 2024, and one of our agents addressed your concerns regarding the fee. You were provided with information about the benefits of doxoPlus, and at that point, you requested this subscription to be canceled. We can confirm this has successfully been completed at that time.

I am getting emails from doxo showing like it's from my providers office but I have no balance. I called my providers office and they do not know what doxo is and said they do not send emails like this. How does doxo get into business like this without their knowledge.doxo Inc Response
