I took my 2019 ****** Highlander into Grease Monkey for a routine oil change January 19, 2023. At that time I was told that a previous employee had "messed up the oil filter" on the previous oil change that I had done on 7/18/2022. They were going to try to fix it. The technician came back into the waiting room and told me they were able to "fix it". The receipt states that the canister filter cap was replaced. The car dripped oil since that oil change in January. I took my car in to Tire Rama to change the oil on 8/31/2023, as I didn't want to go back to Grease Monkey. At Tire **** they asked me to come look at my car. They showed me that the threads were stripped on the upper engine oil pan and there were gouges around the threads. They could not put in the new oil filter as the threads were stripped. At this point the car was undrivable. I had to have my car towed to the Auto Nation ****** (where I purchased the car). In order to fix the car, the engine needs to be pulled and upper engine oil pan replaced. The quote for the parts and labor is: $4296.28 without tax. On September 5th, I called the manager at Grease Monkey, ****, who said they are not responsible as someone else "touched" the car so it isn't their problem. I called the Grease Monkey owner, ****, and explained what had happened. I gave him a contact number of the service advisor at Auto Nation, *****, to discuss the issue. ***** left him 2 messages, **** never returned the calls. **** called me on Sept 7th and said he discussed with ****, manager, and said they are not responsible. Both garages said this damage was caused at the previous oil change, which was at Grease Monkey. This has cost me not only monetarily, but I have been without a car for 2 weeks so far and the car is still in the shop. I would like Grease Monkey to pay for these damages as they were the cause.
