    My wife purchased a gift certificate for a 90-minute sports massage at the Absolute Wellness Healing Spa in ****************, **. I made an appointment for 12:30 pm on March 19th. The day of the appointment, the spa contacted me to note that the masseuse had taken ill, and that I'd have to reschedule. I rescheduled for the same time--12:30 pm--on April 30th. The morning of April 30th, I left my house at 7:00 am for a 3-hour rollerski. When I returned, I found two messages on my phone, noting that I had failed to show up for my "7:45 [am]" appointment. The phone message indicated that, as a "no-show," I would be charged for the appointment. I called back (the call was answered by the owner) and I explained that my appointment was for 12:30 pm. The owner promised to check with the masseuse to see if she could see me at 1:00 pm (instead of at 12:30 pm) for a 90-minute massage. I agreed that I could delay my appointment by 30 minutes. The owner called back later that morning to say that she could not reschedule me and that I bore responsibility for "missing" my appointment. She offered to schedule a new appointment, but only for a lesser amount of time (fewer than 90 minutes), because I had missed my appointment. I requested either an appointment for the amount of time purchased (90 minutes) or a refund of the amount paid for the gift certificate ($155). The owner declined, insisting that she would never have scheduled an appointment at 12:30 [pm]. She became angry, said that she could not talk to me, and hung up.

    Very disappointed with the lack of professionalism at this business. First of all I schedule a couples massage which was a gift for my daughters birthday with her boyfriend and then we got snow last week and we got a call the day of the massage at 9:00am saying that they would probably have to cancel the appointment due to the weather. I was actually out on the roads at 9:00am they were mostly cleaned up. Their appointment wasnt until 11:30 that day. In there contract if you cancel day of the appointment they will charge you full price, so why is it okay for them to cancel on you day of appointment, I understand road conditions can be messy but 11:30 they were cleaned up.I asked the lady that I spoke with if we were going to receive a discount for then cancelling last minute she said I dont know. Anyways we schedule for this Sunday at 1:00pm they arrived at 12:40pm for a 1:00pm appointment, when I made the first appointment that got cancelled I specifically asked the lady on the phone how much the massage would be she told me $250 for a 1hr massage for the couple. Thats what she told me and quoted me. Back to today my daughter messages me at 1:20pm and said they were just going in for the massage 20 minutes past their scheduled time, they were finished dressed and paying by 2:26pm. My daughter asked them about the discount for cancelling last minute they gave her a $10.50 discount but charged her $310.50 minus the discount $300 which was only for using a debt card discount not discount for cancelling the original appointment . This was unbelievable especially since we were quoted $250. I have called and left a message and *** also email and have got no response back from anyone. I cant believe the lack of professionalism at the establishment, not only did you cancel our appointment last minute you scammed 2 young adults out of $50. We will not be going back to this business and we will be letting everyone know what type of business they run.
