I am redoing this review after finding out that my credit union had approved me with no money down but the dealership lied and informed me that I was PRE approved through my credit union. Plus that I would have to pay 2k down when I didnt have to put anything down if they wouldnt of lied to me about my approval with MY credit union. Disrespectful. Car salesmen must be some broke people because they scams they do are ridiculous. This occurred in sept of 2023.Business Response

The trade-in of your vehicle resulted in negative equity amounting to $8,701.50, which was incorporated into the new loan. Furthermore, the $2,000 you contributed reduced the balance of the loan accordingly.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
are you understanding what i am informing? You all lied to me while i was at the dealership and said my credit union wanted $4000 down when they informed me that i didnt need any money down and i was FULLY approved. That is down right dirty. That forced me to have to get a 10% interest rate and an expensive GAP insurance. My interest rate with my credit union would of been 6%! You all robbed me regardless of what i owed. You all put me in a position where i had to pay an outlandish amount of $854 every month on a 10% interest rate when i could have simply stayed with my credit union. So you all lied then scammed me just to get a $2000.00 downpayment when i didnt even need to put down anything!

Nov.2, 2023 began process of purchasing a Jeep. Loan approved. Upon picking up the Vehicle, the detailing roof work not been completed. Never given my 30 day tags. Before purchase there was noise in the front driver side of the vehicle. ********, ***********************, stated it would be fixed prior to sale. The day I picked the jeep up the noise was gone. Grinding noise returned within a couple of days. Predominantly the left side. I took it back. **** explained to me that they had not replaced the heat shield but simply put a bolt to hold the damaged one in place. I asked why the service guys did not put a new one. Was told by **** that when you buy a used car you just never know what you get. I asked had they checked the brakes because it sounded like metal scraping to me. No answer. I left the jeep, was given a loaner. After several days they said they could not find or hear the noise. Picked up the jeep again. That same day the scraping and grinding noise began again. I recorded it and sent it to the salesman. He told me to bring it back. I was given a loaner. I received a call from the mechanic. He tells me about other major issues the vehicle had before my purchase. THINGS NOT DISCLOSED TO ME. A broken seal and other rear end issues. He thought that could be causing the noise. The noise was from the front not the rear. Sent him the recording. Communication stopped. 12/28/2023, still not in the vehicle. I told the salesman, based on the issues and how I had been treated throughout this process that I no longer had confidence in its safety, Or that it was serviced properly prior to sale. He states again, he hesitates selling used cars because you never know what you get. He then stated he had never sent the jeep to their main mechanic but to some off site mechanic. He stated that his manager just told him that was a mistake, he should have sent it to the main mechanic from the beginning. He asked me did I want him to now send the jeep to the main mechanic. I stated no. Too much had happened. He stated there was a problem with the vehicle but they just couldn't find it. He asked me if there was anything else on the lot. We discussed a 2019 Camaro. I looked at it and drove it. I decided I would just go back into a car. He told me he would begin the paper work, run numbers and get back to me about the exchange. Stating he would make it work. That they were a big company and they could make it work. Not even a hour later I receive a call now saying they were not going to make the exchange, that I could not expect the dealership to do so because there was a price difference. They were aware of earlier. I told him this situation was due to their negligence. I had done nothing wrong except trust them. He said that everybody loses in this situation. Yet, I am without a jeep, now the vehicle that we agreed upon to remedy their negligence in the sale of the jeep has now been taken back. He tells me HE would find me something for me. Not my choice. Letting me know I did not have any options and would have to accept this outcome.Business Response

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]
Due to several attempts over the last month to address the issue and fix the issue, I stressed my concerns now with the safety of the Vehicle. The salesman admitted there was an issue with the jeep but they just couldnt find it. He asked me to look at another vehicle to replace this one. He had me drive a 2019 Camaro. We agreed on it as the replacement. He asked me to give him time to work the numbers and he would make it work. The Company, he stated, is large and they can make this work. He also admitted fault in the service of the vehicle. I left believing the matter was settled and I would be returning to pick up the replacement vehicle. However, he calls me within an hour and takes back the offer saying I could expect the company to make the change and he would find me another vehicle. I speak with him on the 1/4/24 and suddenly he claims the vehicle is suddenly fixed by the top mechanic on the east coast and that he is not going to deal with it anymore due to my filing two complaints. That I could do what I wanted. Come get the jeep or speak with a manager. There has been a clear lack of transparency in the sale of the Vehicle, deceptive movements and one broken assurance after the other. How can I possibly have trust in this vehicles safety based on over a month of misleading information, denials and broken assurances of making a situation created by the dealership, right?

Dealer sold used 2019 emissions bypassed truck to me 8/13/22, for $50,729.68. ******** State inspection sticker at time of sale was current. I had no idea that they had sold me an illegal truck, until I went to get state inspection renewed two weeks ago. Inspecting dealer would not touch truck for State Inspection nor maintenance, since the emissions had been bypassed. Would be State Inspection and maintenance dealer told me (1) that the emissions bypass was performed very well i.e. that it was very hard to find, (2) that the selling dealer violated federal law by selling me a emissions bypassed truck, and (3) that the extended warranty that I purchased at time of sale was never valid since the emissions had been bypassed since no dealer could legally work on the truck. Damages that I am seeking are Refund, or Replacement, or Exchange - example (a) selling dealer purchase the truck back for full price $50,729.68 (including extended warranty cost) minus **** miles depreciation = $50,250.00, or (b) selling dealer purchase the truck back via providing me with a voucher in the amount of $50,250.00 towards another vehicle on their lot. If they agree to either (a) or (b) above, I will in turn (1) not retain an attorney, nor (2) shall I speak any further of the incident on any social media and will sign a non-Disclosure agreement stating "no mention of this incident", nor (3) shall I report the incident any further.Business Response

When the turbo went out on the purchased vehicle the warranty company sent out an independent inspector to confirm that it needed a turbo. When the inspector arrived to the dealership they advised the warranty company that the vehicle was being used for "business use" because a flatbed had been installed after the customer purchased the vehicle. This contract was sold as "personal use" and this would void the warranty. At this point the customer reached out to us and stated that it wasn't used for a business, it was for a camper that they towed and the flat bed was needed because the factory bed rails were to high. We relayed this information to the warranty company and after several days of going back and forth with the warranty company they asked for a picture of the camper and the vin number as this would prove that the flatbed was for personal use. The customer did not send us the pictures and stated that an attorney would now be involved.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below:Per the advice of our Attorneys research and several Chevrolet dealerships: Our truck does not qualify as a commercial vehicle due to having a Chevrolet ******** flatbed professionally installed-original frame unaltered. The bed was installed on 2/4/22 two weeks after purchase. The installation of the flatbed was discussed prior to purchasing the truck at Country Chevrolet, in person with the sales manager. At the time of the purchase we were advised by staff to purchase the highest recommended extended ** Platinum Warranty that covered everything. We did so with the truck and warranty totaling $55,679.55 on 1/20/22, paid in full by cashier's check. As stated, our truck was purchased for personal use only to pull our family camper trailer. We have standard truck tags, no **************************** number and no hauling business. Upon realizing that the Country Chevrolet could not prove commercial use, they then requested photos of our camper and the **** If this was imperative to the warranty, it should have been required prior to approving the warranty agreement. The ** warranty had been honored throughout the 2022 year at the dealer, with the same Chevrolet ******** flatbed. Issues did not arise until ** had to honor their warranty for a significant repair- the same repair that was needed initially 5 weeks after purchase on 3/1/22, covered in the warranty agreement. We were then declined and threatened that our warranty would be terminated. It should also be specifically noted that upon review of the warranty agreement that the truck was not sold by Country Chevrolet, rather Country ****************** Any ** Warranty Representative that reviewed the ** Platinum Warranty sold by Country ***************** would obviously assume that the truck was being used for commercial use. This is not about the cost of the repair. It is deceptive business practices, honoring your customer and protecting other potential customers. Country Chevrolet has had ample opportunity for six weeks to make this right and refuse to do so.
