About This Business

Since July 2016, BBB has received several complaints concerning Supreme Pet Voyage. Complaints allege Supreme Pet Voyage requires up-front payment ranging from $200- $5,000 via Western Union or MoneyGram to purchase and deliver a pet, but the pet is never delivered. Customers state the company posts on online-advertising websites and usually communicates via text message. Customers allege that after providing payment to Supreme Pet Voyage they are then required to pay additional funds before their pet can be delivered.

BBB wrote to the company on July 18 and August 1 requesting information on the business’s services, but received return mail indicating No Such Number. When BBB called the company in July the phone number was disconnected. In addition, the company is not registered in the state of Virginia. BBB encourages consumers to request an updated picture of the pet with your name on a piece of paper next to the pet or make arrangements to meet the pet in person before sending money for a pet found online.

BBB offers the following tips if you find yourself subject to an untrustworthy dog breeding operation:

  • Never send money without first checking a breeder or shelter’s credentials. If you locate a puppy through a website, do not send money without speaking to the breeder and checking references and credentials first. In addition, pay via credit card verses Western Union or MoneyGram.

  • Ask if the breeder is a member of an American Kennel Club-affiliated club and contact the club to verify membership.

  • Visit the breeding facility before the purchase and bring your pet home personally, do not purchase a pet from a website. When you have a pet shipped from another area, you don’t know how that pet has been treated, how healthy or young it is, or whether or not the pet exists at all.

  • Don't be fooled by a well-designed website. Unscrupulous scammers will often create a professional-looking but fraudulent website designed to lure the potential buyer in with cute pet pictures.

  • If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Beware of scammers who offer to "re-home" their purebred puppy in exchange for transportation or vaccination fees. If a free purebred puppy sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Scammers will continually ask for more money for unexpected, and fraudulent, costs.

If you believe you have been involved in a questionable dog breeding operation feel free to contact your BBB for assistance.
