I am currently signed up for Envision's ************** program that costs over $3,600 with a $500 deposit that was supposed to be set up for ********************* for this summer of 2023. Me and my family payed majority of the payments, totaling up to apx. $2,311.48. I applied for the scholarship prior to the deadline which was on April 26, 2023 for assistance, and Envision confirmed that the estimated need would cover the rest of the program costs. It states clearly on their website that I would be notified at most 3 weeks after the scholarship deadline. I was never notified until I was the one who reached out to see that they essentially redirected me to fundraise the rest on my own. The scholarship earned ($250) was never applied on my account. Envision NEVER had a refund policy posted on their website or the initial invitation received in October. This is fraud. I constantly am going back and forth trying to receive a refund. Envision is telling me that I cannot receive one after April 2023 despite NOT having a refund policy ANYWHERE - not even in the student portal. Now I have to come up with over $1,800 to participate in the program by July despite the official scholarship file stating that the estimated need would cover this + Envision not having an official refund policy anywhere. I just want a FULL refund of the FULL amount of money that I payed so far.Business Response

Thank you for reaching out. While we sympathize with your financial situation and our scholarship website does have a section to help you estimate financial need, it does not indicate how much of your need will be met by Envision. Or state that it will be 100% met by Envision. Our scholarships are very competitive and the majority of applicants selected receive $250 as you initially did.
Our Admissions Director ***************************** appreciated speaking with your family this week and per your conversation has increased the financial aid we can offer to $1000, which has been applied to your account. He looks forward to speaking with you again this afternoon to discuss your questions further, please do not hesitate to reach out in the meantime.

My son was nominated by his teacher based on his GPA to attend Envision. I thought this was a wonderful opportunity to allow college experience as well as introduction into his field of study. I initially enrolled him to attend Pathway Stem at ****** University July 8th-15th. Envision called and asked that I change my date to June 26th- 30th to ******************** with no reason. They didn't care that I would need to adjust my work schedule and also lose any deposit made for hotel to accommodate their request. Unfortunately, yesterday I had 2 deaths in my family. I called Envision this morning to advise that my son would not be able to attend and request a refund for enrollment due to extenuating circumstances. I was advised that unfortunately I had passed my refund period and found that there is really no refund because even if you do cancel in the allotted time Envision will keep $450 of your money regardless. I asked if I could speak to management to explain my situation but there was no one to speak to but the advisor would get back to me. She then responded with an email explaining the cancellation process which only reiterated that they would not refund me despite my circumstances. Its ok for Envision to not uphold their agreement and change locations with no notice or concern for your schedule or finances but what they wont do is part with a refund of your money when you have a hardship.Business Response

Thank you for reaching out. Our records are showing that your original session is occurring this summer, not cancelled, and that you were offered the opportunity to transfer to an earlier session in exchange for a $750 discount. We show that the change was voluntarily accepted and several conversations took place afterward, when you called back to confirm and discuss paying at a later date. As the change in session was voluntary, not mandatory-If you no longer wish to attend the June session, we are happy to transfer you back to the original July one to give you more time to make payment, at the original price, and remove the discount.
While we sympathize with your circumstances, we aren't able to make an exception and provide you with a refund of your deposit, given the costs we have already incurred toward the program, as it starts in less than 30 days. We can, however, transfer it to 2024 at no additional charge. Please let us know if that is something you'd like to pursue. Thank you and have a safe summer.

I am rejecting this response because:
At the time that Envision called it was not explained that this was an option as stated above. The fact that a discount was provided does not negate the fact that reservations were canceled and plans changed. Once I had a double death in my family I immediately called and asked for a refund due to extenuating circumstances. I was told that I would have a response back with in 24 to 48 hours and that never happened. Then a week later, I was asked to provide proof which I did. In the interim of that I was hospitalized leaving my veteran husband to attend to my children. The option to now move back to the original date is feasible because there are no accommodations for my family and husband wouldn’t be able to take my son by himself. I’m simply asking that you refund my money. How difficult can that be. I can provide emails of my communication with envision.
Regards,

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the cancellation of the Envision Medical Program which was scheduled for June 24. I was extremely excited to have enrolled my son in this program to advance his knowledge in the medical field. However, its unfortunate that they cancelled on my son because I could not pay the full amount of $3125 today which I was going to pay before the program. When I enrolled my son in the program, I paid $499, and I was told that I would be able to get my money back if the event it was canceled or if he couldnt attend. However, now, I was informed that in order to be eligible for a refund, I needed to purchase some insurance. This was never mentioned before to me.On top of that, I was asked to pay the full amount today, which is contradictory to what I was told earlier. I was informed that I had until the date of the program to pay it in full. This is utterly unacceptable, and I think its unfair to treat people this way.Furthermore, I have gone through the reviews of some other parents after I paid $800 In total, and I realized that your company has scammed several people in the past. It is sad that I had to face this situation and come to the realization that I might have lost $800 due to misinformation. Therefore, I request an immediate refund of $800. I can not pay the full amount today ands to be honest my son does not want to attend any longer.Business Response

Thank you for reaching out. We are sorry to hear that you are unable to afford the program tuition, which unfortunately means that we had to withdraw your son from the program for nonpayment. As part of the enrollment terms, students who select the self directed payment plan need to provide full payment at least 30 days prior to the program start date of June 25, or they face withdrawal from the program. As such, his enrollment was cancelled on May 30. He is welcome to re-enroll with full payment of the remaining balance due.
If you are unable to make payment at this time, we are happy to transfer the funds already paid toward a session in 2024, and waive the transfer fee of $50. We are unable to refund them though given the costs we have already incurred toward the program, as it starts in less than 30 days. This is also stated in our cancellation policy, that cancellations or withdrawals on/after April 5, 2023 will not receive refunds.
Please let us know if you are interested in transferring. Thank you and have a safe summer.Initial Complaint

I called on Dec. 2022 to see if my daughter could attend summer 2023. Nothing was signed or sent, Envision started taking money from my credit card. Due to uncontrollable family circumstances, she can no longer attend. I contacted Envision to let them know she could no longer attend and asked for the $2644 to be refunded. I explained given the extenuating circumstances that she could no longer attend. Envision denied my request for refund even tho no services have been rendered, no contract signed. This debt will harm our family, circumstances have changed.Business Response

Thank you for reaching out. We've attached a copy of the contract that was agreed to at the time of enrollment, and email that was generated by agreeing to that contract. It states that cancellations received on or after April 5, 2023 will receive no refund and our records are showing that your child's enrollment was cancelled on 5/13/23. While we sympathize with your circumstances, we aren't able to make an exception and provide you with a full refund, given the costs we have already incurred toward the program, as it starts in less than 30 days. We have, however, refunded your most recent payment of $469, which our Admissions Director has reached out to communicate with you by phone. He has also offered to transfer your remaining tuition to 2024 at no additional charge. Please let him know if that is something you'd like to pursue, and let us know if you haven't received the $469 refund in the next 7-10 business days. My son was nominated for the scholars program in summer '22. Two weeks before the start date, the program was cancelled due to staffing. They offered to move our enrollment to 2023 which I accepted, but our hotel was already booked and non-refundable. In December of 2022, I was contacted asking for more money because of an alleged price increase (mind you, we had already completed our payments for the initial price) and they also chose to upgrade his enrollment to the STEM program without my knowledge, resulting in an additional upcharge. They called me in the beginning of December, giving me only 2 weeks to pay $311. Closer to date, I called saying that I couldn't afford to spend extra so close to Christmas, which is when I was told the deadline is actually January 7th and at that point I was frustrated that they lied about the dates so I declined the upgrade. I've already booked our hotel and now am receiving an email notification that the location has moved an hour away. They've been dishonest, inconsistent, unprepared, and now have terrifying reviews. We are cancelling but I've been notified that because we moved the enrollment to this year rather than getting a refund last year, the program is nonrefundable.Business Response

**** is a total scam!!! They scam you into paying for this summer camp and the summer camp is completley FAKE!! The paper they sent said the camp was going to be help at Univeristy of ******, when you register it says the camp is being held at ***** ****** University June 18-23 or June 25-30 and residential stay where you stay at the campus. RED FLAG right there, I called ***** ****** University to verify if there is a camp there and she said yes but it is not till JULY 24-28 and there is NO lodging at the campus. So the paper we received in the mail and the registraition for this camp is completley false, **** said camp is in June with residential stay and I called to verify and it is not until July with no lodging!! Also the Stem Camp in July is only $50 and **** is saying it is $2700-$3100. I called **** and they will not refund me my money back even though I caught them in lies, about the program and where the program is. SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN Attached is proof of payment, the letter stating where the camp is, the actual registration stating a different location and also proof from ***** ****** University that their camp isnt until July and the fee is only $50 and no lodgingBusiness Response

Thank you for bringing your concerns to us and allowing us the opportunity to explain them. I can imagine this must have been very frustrating. We did have a change of venue after our initial letters were sent, which was disclosed prior to enrollment. However, I can assure you that we do have a signed contract for the program and lodging to be held at ***** ******* University, and have attached the first page of it for reference, which indicates the dates are as advertised. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you about this directly. Please reach out to me at your convenience at *******@envisionexperience.com. Thank you again for bringing your concerns to us.Initial Complaint

I was invited to an envision camp through a letter that stated that I had been nominated by my teacher and was among "less than 300 students selected for the envision program". The letter stated that I would be earning college credit worth thousands of dollars and that attending an envision program would make my college application stand out and increase my chances of getting accepted into a college by over 30 percent. After admittedly little deliberation due to the paragraphs about "exclusivity" and how it was an "honor to be invited", I chose to attend and paid the $3500 to attend the **** youth engineering conference. This is where my experience with the company went downhill. A month or so after this I saw a different program from a different provider and decided I wanted to switch to that. I called the number they sent in the admission email and had a very good experience, I was told I would be given a full refund and I just needed to call the number they gave me. But when I called that number I found out it led to the claims line of a corporate insurance company. When I called envision a second time and explained this, the agent told me that I didn't need to call anyone and that my refund would be sent in 5 business days. After waiting 12 business days, there was no refund, so I called back. The third agent told me that there would be no refund and my program had been rolled over to next year at the request of my mother. That is impossible given that my mother died 4 years ago. They escalated me to a supervisor and I was told verbatim to: "pound sand kid". After looking further into the past of Envision I saw that this is SOP for them. They repeatedly lied to me, exaggerated numbers, made flagrant claims of "exclusivity", "honor", and lied to me about increased college prospects. I will not be doing business with Envision ever again and advise anyone looking to attend one of their programs to look elsewhere. I just want the refund I was promised.Business Response

Thank you for reaching out and the opportunity to clarify several of the points made in your complaint. Per the attached, our program does incur cancellation fees, which your parent or guardian agreed to when they purchased the program for you to attend. Our records show that while you did contact us on 4/5/22 about cancelling your enrollment, we were unable to process your request as you are a minor under the age of 18. Instead, we asked you to have your parent or guardian contact us per the attached terms and conditions of enrollment. We do not show any record of cancellation from them, which means that no refund would be due, and cancellations received prior to 4/6/22 incur a $450 cancellation fee, with the $49 deposit fee for selecting the payment plan also being nonrefundable. We also respectfully dispute the details of the conversations you list, and apologize if the individual that called us on 5/2/22 and later in July was mischaracterized as your mother.

Parent said that they wanted to cancel -thought they would get a refund for tuition told her no refunds after April 6th - said to not cancel she will talk with her husband and then call back.
In consideration of the fact that you attempted to cancel on your parents behalf, we have processed a refund of $2403.34 which is the $2,902.34 paid toward the program, minus $499. Please let us know if your family does not receive it in the next 7-10 business days, which may be slightly longer if the card is no longer viable and a check is required instead. I signed my son, ***********************, up for the National Youth Leadership Forum Business Innovation Program offered by Envision for the summer of 2022. This is a week long program offered at ***** University. I paid the applicable fees in February 2022 and filled out the applicable forms right away for him to attend as planned. In March 2022 I received an email stating; We may need to make changes to your enrollment forms and information as new learnings and guidance related to COVID-19 evolve. ****** university requires my son to now be fully vaccinated with proof to attend the class that I alreday paid for. My Son is not vaccinated so they gave me the option to transfer his enrollment to following year in summer of 2023. ***** university has not changed their vaccination requirements and I am now out of $4000 plus books that were paid for the program. I've been going back and forth about getting refunded my money that I paid with no help. I would not have paid this money if this requirement was DISCLOSED to me upfront. This was not disclosed to me or listed in the required documentation. I was misled by this company. I was told a couple months ago that they would look into seeing if **** had an exempions for this but no phone call was returned. I was just told that they don't give refunds and that my son could apply to a different program which is totally unrelated to Business at a different location which did not have this requirement. I did not pay for a Law class or Medical class. I paid for the Business Innovation Program and my services were not provided and my money was taken from me. I'm assuming Envision did not have a class at **** in the summer of 2021 or did not follow their protocols if they did or the may have misled other people that have paid and kept their money. After doing my research **** university had this requirement in April 2021. See link below UniversityBusiness Response

Thank you for reaching out, and we apologize for any confusion regarding your 2023 transfer enrollment. **** will not grant exemptions to their vaccine policy, so we have cancelled your transfer and processed a refund of $2,646.42, which is the full amount paid minus your leadership home study purchase. Please let us know if you haven't received it in the next 5-7 business days. Thank you and have a safe school year.
