The initial estimate to remove and replace an existing concrete driveway was given on 04/23/2022.Based on the estimate the contractor was hired and paid a total of $8,619.00.The project was completed on 05/03/2022 and came with a 3 year warranty. The driveway is currently still under warranty!Contractor was notified on 01/30/23 of cracks forming between the expansion joints of the driveway. He came to my home, looked at the driveway, no further action was taken. Contractor was notified on 03/14/2024 that the top layer of concrete was crumbling away on areas of the driveway. The contractor responded out and said the damage was due to road salt from a fairly recent snow storm that had come off of the cars parked on the driveway onto the cement damaging it. No repairs were made.On 05/2024 a different contractor was working on my home. This contractor has experience pouring concrete foundations and he inquired about the damage to my driveway. I explained to him what I was told by the driveway contractor, he did not agree with the assessment that a relatively new driveway would suffer that kind of damage with minimal exposure to winter weather road treatment chemicals Present day- the driveway top layer is continuing to crumble away, a crack has formed where the driveway and sidewalk meet. The driveway is still under warranty, since the contractor has not made any attempts to repair prior damage brought to his attention no further attempts have been made to contact him. Additionally despite multiple requests to get things in writing the contractor only communicated via text message so a screen shot of the estimate and warranty are attached. I would like the driveway to be repaired properly so it lasts. I feel that contacting the Better Business Bureau is the only way this will happen. Photo file size is too large to be attached. Is there another way I can send them to you? Physical inspection will also verify my claim!
