            In May 2022, this contractor provided us with a quote for work to be done on our property. Despite asking for a start date, project time line, this was never provided. Eventually some of the work was done but not all. We paid him more than 50% as a down payment on this bid with only two out of three projects being completed by him. He did an additional job for us and is now asking for additional payment when by our records, he was significantly overpaid for the two projects that were already done. We have asked for an itemized bill for the original project but have not received this despite asking repeatedly over the last three months. On Monday, June 19, he had agreed to send the invoices but has yet to do so. I have attached the original quotes, as well as some of our correspondence with him since the original agreement was made. We also have text messages if needed. the original invoices are ****, ****, and ****. the newest invoice for the additional work is ****.

            Chris Leslie is legendary in my neighborhood of Providence Hill in Lexington, VA. He is known as the guy who does top notch excellent work, at a reasonable cost. Recently Leslie Excavating did a five figure job at my house that involved land clearing, asphalt and concrete removal, soil grading, and installation of a gravel drive. I found his work to be top notch, and my job was not easy. The grade on my driveway is a very gentle slope to the yard and road, and without perfect grading expertise, it would have been a failure. You should know that Leslie's excellence and price means you will need to wait in line for the job to be done. If you have some kind of insane rush job, you may want to pick someone else, or offer above-market money, because Leslie is busy, and you just need to wait your turn. It is worth the wait, though.
