I purchased a vehicle from them. The very next day not even 24 hours after purchasing it the brake light was coming on saying to check the brakes and the suspension started failing. I called and let them know they had sold me a bad car and they said it was sold as is but they never told me that the brakes and suspension both needed replacement. The warranty they sold me doesn’t even cover the suspension and it was $300 extra.Business Response

9/15/2023 is when I purchased a 2011 dodge Durango from local auto sales llc. They were great to work with at first. Because I was paying the full amount in cash. The windshield had a chip in it and I was told for sure that it was fixed already by ******** I asked several times before purchasing the car as I know it was sold as is and the warranty I was purchasing through them did not cover it. Two weeks go by and it cracks all the way across my windshield. A lot of hassle to get them to live up to their word but they did pay half of the cost to replace it. My 30 day tags expire and I don’t receive an actual plate from them so I ask about it they said I need to do it myself at dmv. At dmv I am told that I should not be doing this because I paid a processing fee already but I have no option other than do it because my tags are expired and they charge random fees for nothing. They never “processed” anything. I had a title from the original owners in ******** and a bill of sales from them. The did NOT register anything for me so they made me pay a fee for absolutely nothing and when calling about the issue they don’t have answers and won’t let you talk. Causing extreme frustration when you paid almost 12000 in cash for them to basically pull one over on you. Let’s not forget to add in that the first sales person we were dealing with said we could have 500 off because we were paying in cash but the guy that finalized everything wouldn’t agree with the terms. So heads up to anyone that thinks that local auto sales llc has any interest in integrity because they certainly do not.Business Response

On 12/08/2022, I purchased a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta from Local Auto Sales. On 12/11/2022, I knew the car was not drivable. On 12/13/2022, I took the car to ******** Automotive in **********. After diagnosis, I was told that the transmission needed to be replaced, there was a major oil leak from Vacuum pump, several other oil leaks but couldn't pinpoint due to the large amount of oil everywhere, caked on oil and the airbag sensors were giving different codes. I asked if the airbags had been replaced, ******** said, "I'm not even sure if they are in there". They also stated that he was surprised the car even made it there and it was so dangerous that he wouldn't let me leave with the car. I sent Mr ********* an email on 12/13/22 asking for a full refund. Mr ********* knew he was selling me a dangerous vehicle. ******** also stated that I would never be able to get the car inspected again because of the issue with the airbags. Mr ********* said he had to speak with his Boss and he might give me $3000 back. I told him that the car was still at the mechanics and it was not drivable and the Warranty Company was not going to pay anything. He said, "You signed the paper, as-is, no Warranty!"
I called Mr ********* twice more and He stated that He was not going to give me a refund and he said, "take me to Court and if you call here again, I won't answer your calls!". Then He hung up on me.
I contacted the Virginia State's Attorneys Office and they have sent Local Auto Sales several requests but Local Auto Sales refuses to respond to the State of Virginia.
I also spoke with Trooper Harris with the Virginia State Police. She stated that the car failed inspection the first time due to the airbag sensor but two days later it passed. It is very easy to "clear codes" During the inspection from ******** Automotive, the car was throwing off 32 different codes. Local Auto Sales fraudulently sold me this vehicle and this is a clear case of "Fraud by Concealment".Business Response

I am writing this email to reference no:******** in a matter related to a recent vehicle purchase. I am the owner of Local Auto Sales. One of my customers recently purchased a car from my dealership, which was sold "as is" with no dealer warranty. Despite this disclosure, the customer has approached my dealership with a request to return the vehicle, claiming that it is not in the condition they expected.I want to clarify that our dealership made it clear to the customer at the time of purchase that the vehicle was being sold "as is" and without a dealer warranty. This information was included in the sales contract, which the customer signed and agreed to which I will attach to this email.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I am fully aware that I signed the "As-is, No Warranty" paper and I realize that I do not have a case based on that. However, I spoke with Virginia State Police Trooper Harris with the Inspection Division. She researched and then stated that the car failed inspection the first time but it passed inspection two days later. The vehicle failed because of "Brakes & Rotors" and "Airbags". I also obtained, from the Virginia State Police, a copy of the two inspections.Airbag sensors do not magically disappear. They can be "cleared", long enough to get an inspection sticker but they can not be deleted.Local Auto Sales sold me this vehicle knowing this. They also knew that I would never be able to get the car inspected again. This is a clear case of Fraud by Concealment and under the Virginia Tort Law, Local Auto Sales had a "Duty of Care" which they failed to provide to me.I have never been able to use this vehicle as it was intended for and I based my decision to buy this vehicle on the fact that it had a new Inspection Sticker. Had Local Auto Sales been honest about the car, I would have never bought it. It has caused me nothing but financial hardship and emotional distress.
