We had a large project that required partial roof replacement, electricians, plumbers, expanding a room and more. We bought our home based on the roof not being to code and Lutz's quote which seller agreed to pay for out of proceeds. Agreement reached, papers signed, and money was set aside in an escrow account for roof to be replaced. Three months later a new quote came in and it was double! This meant the additional expense to fix roof was at the new buyers to foot the bill for a total of $30,000! Lutz contractor admitted he "assumed" and did not know actual costs of trusses nor that the concrete area was not actual foundation. How does a contractor who needs trusses for a roof replacement does not get proper quotes on costs of trusses and concrete prior to any quotes? He admitted he assumed on both these items. This meant when roof was fixed part of roof would not be put back unless we paid the additional costs. From the time he first came out until the time we actually got quotes was 3 months. The quotes were supposed to be itemized and instead it was simply a list within an email. During this time lapse we asked repeatedly, and dates were given for work to start, and that time would pass. Meanwhile we packed up house to move out while waiting on him. During the time lapse of us waiting he was traveling and vacationing. Then the quote came in September, 4 months from the first roof quote. Now we must start from scratch. In the beginning before things came to light, we referred contractor to redo my father's bathroom. My father had removed the vanity and done a lot of the work, even went and bought everything. The first day on the job the workers were painting the walls after removing wallpaper prior to patching holes in wall. My father did 2 days' worth of work on the walls since workers did not show up. No discounts given, no apologies, nothing! Contractor said he would go to work site and never showed. I would never recommend Cory Lutz with Lutz Do IT!
