    I had a tooth extracted at the dental school. When I got a full time job and had dental insurance I started going to the *** faculty dental practice. A head dentist there (the guy who did my all around X-rays it should be in my chart told me he vet and over that the ******************* Program for people with HIV would pay for my crown and I told him 2 c that I didnt think it but he insisted and went on and on about how it could effect the shifting of my teeth. The receptionist ******** who is retired and various other staff also said that RW Program would cover it. It has now been YEARS and no payment has been made to *** and they keep sending bills and no one gets back to me. I have called and called and they say they will look into it. I told them I cant pay 3000 I cant even afford a payment plan of 5 dollars a month because I have various other serious illnesses besides HIV. When I told this to the new office manager she told me Well you did sign that youd be responsible for any payment not covered but they were the ones who told me it was covered!!! I never mentioned it because I had heard it wasnt covered but when 4 or more professionals who should know tell you the same thing you believe them. I want this addressed and I want the bills to stop coming. I feel tricked and taken advantage of. This would be wrong even if I could afford to pay the bill. That staff should be ashamed of themselves.

    Good afternoon,

    I have reviewed the account for ************************** and found the following:

    There were several attempts to obtain payment from the ******************* Program that were unsuccessful, at which point ************************** was billed for the difference of $2,182 that was not paid by his primary insurance (Delta Dental).  I agree that there is insufficient evidence that documents VCU obtaining approval from ******************* to cover the services, which would have been our standard practice for implant procedures.  Therefore, as of March 2024 we considered the account closed, with the full $2,182 waived as a courtesy.  I have attached an account ledger showing zero balance.  ************************** should not receive any more billing statements for these services, and if he does (or has received any since March 13, 2024) he may call me personally at ************ to resolve it.
