- Additional Info:According to the Armed Forces Military Disciplinary Control Board, on November 30, 2023 the company Icon Motor Sports had been added to their Off Limits List citing that the business had been the subject of recent reports of unethical business practices against military personnel, and was investigated by the Armed Forces Disciplinary Control Board, or AFDCB. The business had targeted junior service members due to their lack of inexperience.
One of these alleged practices included: the misrepresentation of a “free” driver safety course, rather than the company being an auto dealership; alleging coercing service members who have no driver’s license in to purchasing a car; refusing to refund deposits after the sale of defective cars; alleged false promises to resale a used car and the appearance of bird-dogging on the naval base.
According to the Armed Forces Disciplinary Control Board, business are able to notify them in writing that they’ve fixed the issues, and at that time, the board may decide to remove a business from the list after it has shown they made necessary changes. Those who don’t respond may be requested to appear at a formal hearing in front of the board.
