According to a press release by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, “On March 23, 2023, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB or Bureau) filed a complaint and proposed stipulated final judgment and order to resolve the Bureau’s claims against Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC.  The Assurance was for settlement purposes only and should not be considered as an admission of guilt or finding of violation of the law.
