I was scheduled for 2 root canals and was informed by staff they would contact my insurance and let me know my portion of financial responsibility. After doing so, I was informed I would owe $685. This amount was verbally confirmed 3 times over the phone, up to, and including, the day of the procedure, which was last Tuesday 9/23/2025. The following Monday I received a bill for almost $2,200, which was printed on the 9/26/2025, only 3 days post-procedure. When I called to inquire about the disparity between what I was told and what I received in the mail, I got no explanation and was told if I did not pay it, I would be sent to collections and they would not see me as a patient any longer. I was also informed that they could not accept monthly payments of less than $240 per month. I called the following day and asked to speak with an office manager or someone in charge of billing. I was informed that she was "not in the office on a regular basis" and would contact me by phone, which she did at 7:44pm. ***** explained that they do not have time to contact my insurance, as that could take anywhere between ***** minutes and they are too busy for that. She stated they they log into the insurance company's portal and estimated the best they can based on benefits. She admitted that whomever worked up my estimate did some "bad math", and she could not figure out how she arrived at that total. She then wanted to discuss payment arrangements. Ultimately, she hung up on me, and no one has been in contact since. As for the procedure, I was sent home with an antibiotic I was allergic to, so did not fill, and a steroid pack, but no pain medication. Why would I not be given prophylactic antibiotics? If I'm coming to a dentist in pain, it's likely I had/have an infection. We are on day 9 post-procedure and I'm still in pain, cannot eat solid foods, or chew on the right side.

Dominion Endodontics will not address a patient's complaint to the BBB.  We are a medical office, subject to HIPAA, and we do discuss ANY patient information with outside parties.  THIS WAS OUR REPLY ON OoCTOBER 11.

I see that a  very important word was omitted in our message of October 1.  The reply should have been  "Dominion Endodontics will not address a patient's complaint to the BBB.  We are a medical office, subject to HIPAA, and we do NOT discuss ANY patient information with outside parties."

    Apologies for the initital typo.
