      I had American Dispoal as my trash service. I canceled them at the end of May 2025 with my last pick up from then would be May 26 and they would pick up their totes (trash cans) on June 2 2025. I had paid for 3 months with would have taken me till June 2025. I was owed a refund of $49.95. I have yet to receive my refund. We have called 3 times trying to find out about our refund and always get a different answer. First we was told we would get it by July 27, 2025. Yet we got nothing. After that date we called them back and was told they would send over to billing and get back with us. We haven't heard from them. Today August 7, 2025 we called again and was told it takes 10 weeks to get our refund. Everytime we call we get a different answer. I think they are hoping we will forget about it. If you are late paying they charge you a $10.00 late fee. Granted $49.95 is not a big amount but if we owed them that they would be threating us with turning us over to a collection agency. Why if I canceled in May should it take 3 months to get our money back? I feel that I am owed $49.95 plus $10.00 more for each month they hold my money from when I canceled. They would charge me if the shoe wpuld be on the other foot. Why should they be making money off my money?

      Finally received a deposit into my account from them but the amount was for ***** would like to know where that number came from since we paid ***** a month and we ended them the end of ****** qas paid up through june..  To resolve this i want late fees like they would have charged me if I had been this late getting them their money.

      This company continues to provide bad service. Last month it was numerous missed pickups. Now they left yard waste on the sidewalk and the street of the parking space. Not to mention mulch plastic bags (trash) that I didnt put in the brown bags. I told the landscaper the bags go in the trash. I had no knowledge of them in the brown bags. But they dont get to leave them on the sidewalk either!!! I want all of this cleaned up. They have brooms on their trucks. This is unsatisfactory. If their workers cant do the job properly, get someone else.

      We would also like to clarify that, per local guidelines and our company policy, mulch is not considered an acceptable yard waste material and should not be placed in yard waste bags. While we understand Ms. ********* may not have been aware that mulch was included in the bags, our crews are instructed not to collect non-compliant materials. However, we agree that leaving the bags on the sidewalk was not ideal, and we have reminded our team to handle such situations with greater care and communication in the future.

      I just received a call from ***** (July ******* at 0913.

      she stated her crew said I had mulch in my yard waste and they dont dispose of mulch. 

      mulch went down in my yard ! I personally gave bags of mulch to the landscaper to  put down. No mention of the debris that was left from the pickup. Just as rude and I had to force her to listen to me. She wasnt even interested. Just wanted me to know they dont take mulch!!! Rude!!!!

      As of this morning nothing was cleaned up. I moved all debris sling the curb. They came out yesterday to check the yard waste and all the debris was still there as of July 22, 2025

      I have had trash and recycling pick up with company for about 1.5 years since I move into home. Since then they have missed collection of trash or other items more than 5 times with numerous complaint involving online reports and phone calls. Spoke to supervisor after multiple request on 4/24/25. She stated this was first she was hearing of it. Reports it is not collected because cans not placed correctly on side of road. Informed her no one ever communicated a specific requirement of location of cans by side of road. The following week on 4/30/25 cans placed in requested location and still yard refuse bags were not picked up. It is ridiculous I have to call every week about an issue and place the items in a perfect fashion on side of a busy road blocking my drive to have services. There needs to be a reasonable resolution to this problem as I am paying 100% of fees and getting maybe 75% of the services paid for.

      The type of truck that services your location is a side load truck with an automated arm. To ensure service is provided each week, we advise to have your containers at the curbside side by side with approximatley 3 feet in between each container. Safety is a top priority at American Disposal; therfore, the driver can not exit the truck while on a two lane road to move the cans into position for servicing.       I am rejecting this response because:

      I asked your staff multiple times when I called to find out if there was something specific which needed to be done for trash/recycling/ yard waste to be collected. I was told repeatedly no. We also received no information on specific can placement when we signed up for service with you all. It would have been nice to have been provided with all this information from the beginning so we could do what was required instead of having to constantly call you and get misinformation. Your response also does not address my request for refund of monies for every time we call or submitted an online report of missed collections.

      We've been with company for a couple years. About half of our 104 weeks, the garbage and recycling pickups have been late or missed on a Friday. We live next to a park, and when this happens, the garbage gets pulled out by animals. And just leaving those cans out for a week (the usual suggestion by them when we call) is a mess that their workers do not pickup ... Even if the spill. If I didn't pay my bill, I'm pretty sure they'd cut us off ... What recourse do I have? This ...

      I have two trash bins. One is regular trash and one is recyclables. I have been placing my trash at the end of my driveway. Regular trash pickup has been timely and consistent. The recycling trash pickup has been missed four weeks in a row. The first two week it was missed, it was resolved in about 48 hours. However, the last two missed pick-*** have not been resolved. My trash has been sitting at the end of my driveway awaiting pickup for 11 days. I have submitted multiple daily missed pick*** via their website form. I have spoken to a *** who assures me that it will be picked up, and then it is not. I have requested for a manager to call me to provide a resolution and to refund me for services I have paid for but they are not providing. They are silent. I need help to encourage American Disposal to pick up my recycling as I have paid them to do so.

      I witnessed American Disposal Services today (2/28) take a pizza box and loose magazines out of my trashcan and throw it on the ground / street! The wind blew it everywhere! I understand that you're not supposed to put a bunch of cardboard in your trash cans...but this was one pizza box (Which I thought couldn't be recycled) some magazines I put in last minute and one small Amazon box broken down...and I also put them in the trash because it was windy and I didn't want them blown away!Luckily I was working from home and ran down and tried to grab everything...but this is horrible. They are supposed to PICK UP trash, not litter and turn the community into a dump! No wonder there is trash all over our community! It's not only the wind! It's the actual people whose job it is to get rid of the trash!I witnessed the garbage man reach into my trashcan, grabbed the magazines and pizza box out, and throw them onto the ground...at which point I decided to take my camera out and take pictures.

      American Disposal is contracted for residential recycling services that is scheduled to be done once a week. In the month of January not a single pick up was performed missing 3 scheduled pick **** Numerous calls were made to the customer service and missing pick *** were reported. However, the company still has not delivered any services while still charging the same amount for the services.

      On Friday, November 8, 2024, my Recyling was supposed to be collected. However, it was not collected. I contacted American Disposal Waste Connection on Tuesday, November 12, at 9:13am, since Monday 11/11 was a Holiday. I spoke to a representative for 6 minutes, explained the situation, she said she verified through their GPS and it showed that they did not stop in front of my house. She continued saying that they would go back, to make sure the bin was out before 5:00 AM (Wednesday 11/13), which we made sure to do. The bin was out on curb by 6:00PM on Tuesday 11/12. Nevertheless, it is Wednesday 11/13, and no one has picked up Recyling. I contacted American Disposal again, today at 2:29 PM, spent another 6 minutes with same representative on phone, who said, they stopped by on Tues. and only trash container was out. To which i replied of course, you told me they would come today (Wednesday) and to make sure bin was out by 5:00am next morning (Wednesday). She replied she had to control as to when they would stop by, I asked when they are coming back, she said they could not send them back until next service which is not until Friday 11/15. I asked to speak to a supervisor, she said no one was available at this time. This situation has happened many times in the past, sometimes I have allowed it to slide, others I have contacted them. American Disposal gets paid a very high amount for their services; therefore, I believe the least they can do is render the service they are being paid for.

      I canceled my service in August 2024. Last pick up day was September 5th and the trash & recycling containers were picked up the week of September 9th. I was told when canceling the service that they would not prorate but would process the refund following the successful pick up of the containers. They were picked up and no issues ***orted. I waited and waited. Sent two emails and only received an automated email response to the second one saying I would need to call them. I called on Friday November 22nd and after waiting on hold for 10+ minutes, finally was able to talk to someone. The customer service agent said something must be stuck, she would check with accounting and call me back. As of Tuesday, 11/26 still no refund or update so I called again. I was told this time that they were processing an ACH payment and those typically **** *-10 weeks. I said that was not acceptable and she said she was only reading what they were told. I pressed again on how this was way overdue and the customer service *** basically just said she couldn't do anything except tell me what she could see. I don't see how it's legal or acceptable for a company to take this long to refund $176.34. I'm tired of spending time getting them to address this and would appreciate help moving this up.

      I have used American Disposal Services for over 2 years for our weekly household waste disposal, and missed services have occurred on occasion but were normally remedied within 7-10 business days. Recently, on September 10, 2024, service was missed, which I assumed would be picked up the following week on September 17, 2024, but it was not. I contacted customer service to notify them that ******************** were not rendered for 2 weeks in a row, and they responded that services would be rendered the following week on September 24, 2024. Again, services were not rendered and customer service was contacted again regarding 3 weeks of missed services. They did not respond to my second inquiry with a resolution, but I again assumed they had acknowledged the missed services. On October 01, 2024 services were missed for a 4th week in a row, and customer service was notified. At this time, I had requested services be rendered by that Friday, October 04, 2024. **************** replied and stated that the missed services would be taken care of before my next service date, today, October 08, 2024. Unfortunately, the missed services have not been resolved, and I do not, in good faith, believe that they offer the services I am paying for.

      This complaint was finally resolved after 2 more inquiries/complaints to the company the week after filing my BBB complaint. In one of the personal complaints directly to the company, I had requested a response from a manager but received no response at all from the anyone at the company.
