      On 9/21/2024, I visited Jiffy Lube store #*** in ***********, ********. After a wait of more than two hours, I received a signature service oil change, an EXP engine treatment, and a cabin air filter replacement. Following the oil change, I detected a strong burning smell and observed smoke emanating from my ***** ******** husband, who returned to the store on 10/10, reported the issue to the staff, who found a significant oil leak and recommended an oil top-off. Although the odor diminished somewhat after this service, further issues arose when we took the vehicle to C&D ************ for brake repairs on 10/21. The technician discovered a plastic EXP bottle lodged in the engine and noted that the check engine light was illuminated due to oil leaking from the oil filter. Additionally, the cam sensor was found to be wet with engine oil and required further diagnosis. We retrieved our vehicle from C&D ************ on 10/22, and promptly returned it to Jiffy Lube in ************During our drive, the vehicle stalled out 3 times on the highway. Upon our arrival, we requested to speak with a supervisor or manager to discuss the matter. We detailed our experience to the supervisor **** and indicated we would be to filing a formal complaint regarding the service received. On 10/23, I received a phone call from **** *****, District Manager, regarding my compliant. I am increasingly frustrated and disappointed with the failure of action by Jiffy Lube to address my concerns. I have had a significant financial burden and time away from my employment to address the continued issues with my car. On 10/29, I arranged for my car to be towed away to an auto mechanic shop for a diagnostic test. Currently, the car is unable to operate without completely stalling out. Although it can be restarted, its performance is inadequate for commuting to work. Consequently, we are relying on the metro, ***** and car rental service for transportation during this period.

      7/22/23 Service: Oil Change with Oil Filter Replacement. Issue: Staff was unable to remove oil filter so they decided to put a screwdriver in it causing damage to the oil filter housing. They were still unable to remove it. Therefore, I had to get it towed from their garage to a local dealership to which they were able to remove it without issue. Had they not decided to destroy the housing, I would have been able to drive it to another facility without an issue. Called District Manager, *******************, and he refused to reimburse me as they believe they are not liable for the damages even though, they caused them. Resolution: Reimbursement for towing and damages to the vehicle.

      This confirms receipt of the above captioned complaint, and serves as the response from CB Squared Services, Inc. in connection with same.

      The customer was advised during their visit to Jiffy Lube® Service Center #*** on July 22, 2023, that their vehicle’s engine oil filter was seized and appeared to be unremovable. The location manager brought to the customer’s attention the issues with completing the service, and that this oil filter condition is common when there exists an extended time and mileage difference between services and a lack of proper maintenance. Store personnel attempted to complete the services requested by the customer, unfortunately without success.

      The invoice furnished by the customer from ***** ********* ******, dated July 24, 2023, indicates that the dealership technicians, “Found oil filter stuck and had to break it in order to remove,” thus further demonstrating the vehicle’s engine oil filter condition.

      Given the condition of the oil filter upon arrival for service at our location, and the findings of the dealership technicians at ***** ********* ******, CB Squared Services, Inc. unfortunately cannot be responsible for the cost of any repairs associated with the matter, as our technicians merely attempted to help resolve the matter for the customer.
