In March 2021, we hired GS Custom Remodelers LLC to do some remodeling work in a 3-bedroom condo, predominantly involving re-doing the kitchen in its entirety, laying new flooring in all but the three bedrooms, and painting all but two bedrooms. From the outset, we requested copies of the invoices for the appliances, the kitchen cabinetry, and the flooring purchased and installed. We stated that we wanted to be able to easily pursue manufacturer's warranties. The work schedule was patchy, the workers assigned to the job were inconsistent, and the communication between us, the workers, and the owner of GS Custom Remodelers was difficult. There were serious issues during the work, e.g., the washing machine was installed and RUN to test with the TRANSIT BOLTS still installed, incorrect cabinetry was ordered and had to be re-ordered, causing delay, and incorrect paint color was applied and had to be redone, again causing delay. Due to mounting frustration and irregular appearance of workers, we did a number of "punch out" jobs ourselves just to get our home back. At the end of the job (end of April 2021), we still had not received any invoices. Now months (currently it is September 2021) and many e-mails, voicemails, and texts later, we have not had any response of any kind from GS Custom Remodelers, but we have had issues with two appliances (both requiring replacement due to poor function) and one cabinet (bottom drawer in cabinet installed improperly and not working so that we removed the drawer and use the bottom of the cabinet as a shelf instead). This was the second job GS Custom Remodelers had done for us (we had them renovate another condo in 2019). We hired them again based on the good work they did in 2019. However, as of 2021, I would not recommend this company at all based on the disorganized, often unskilled work and lack of care with work done, lack of communication, and lack of response by the owner of GS Custom Remodelers LLC to our repeated requests for something as simple as the invoices for items purchased and installed in our home.
