Currently enrolled in CJUS 700, doctoral-level Criminal Justice "Theories of Crime" course in Helms School of Government at Liberty University. This is the only course I have taken at Liberty University, and it has been a miserable experience. Three of my classmates have already withdrawn, and I am pushing myself to finish, but I will never take another graduate-level course at Liberty again.
The quality of education has been extremely poor. There is little to no real “teaching,” and the class has not provided the educational value expected at the doctoral level. Despite filing multiple formal complaints about this course, the same problems persist. The professor’s conduct, grading practices, and lack of adherence to Liberty’s own rubrics have only added to the frustration.
The administrative staff were polite and professional when I first enrolled. I quickly dropped all other planned courses, either before they started or during the drop/add period, without penalty.
I receive frequent marketing emails urging me to sign up for more online courses, yet there is no genuine effort to ensure that the courses students are already paying for are worthwhile. No one checks on the quality of instruction, how professors are treating students, or whether students are actually satisfied with the curriculum. Liberty clearly values tuition revenue over student experience.
In my opinion, Liberty University has no business offering graduate-level education. This experience has permanently damaged my view of the school. At most, I might consider using my remaining benefits for an undergraduate language program, but I will never again enroll in Liberty’s graduate programs.
I genuinely pity students who feel trapped in these doctoral programs simply because they need the degree for career advancement. Based on my direct experience, Liberty University does not deliver on its promises and contributes to the larger issue of declining quality in American higher education.

I would not recommend this University to anyone. Their financial aid department is very rude and unprofessional to their students. This will be my last semester attending LU. I am currently in a doctorate program and these people wait until the day of disbursement to request my high school transcripts. Seriously, this should have been requested upon enrollment and this is my second semester at LU. Financial Aid waited 5 weeks within the semester to request my high school diploma. This process is now delaying my loans in which I have to pay back. They act like it’s coming out of their pocket. LU received my high school transcripts last week. Now it’s 3 to 5 business days before a viewer can look at my account. When you call to ask the status of your account they want to get smart and talk to students as if they are a bother. I will take my education and excel at another university to earn my doctorate.

I had a terrible experience with Liberty University. As a returning student, I enrolled in the School of Business and had a terrible instructor. Her feedback was terrible and when I challenged her feedback, she told me that I "had an ego" and that she will "humble me". Her last feedback to me was, "I am unsure how to help you". I reached out to the schools formal complaint system, Beacon, and they gave canned answers and refuse to give a care about my concerns. They denied all four of my Beacon complaints simply asking for a refund for the course or placement into the same course uncharged and under a different instructor. They're frauds and scam artists under the guise of promoting Christian principles.

worst school I ever attended I took online classes and did ok but thought I was doing pretty good but then I had to retake courses they do not teach online they tell you to read and figure it out on your own I was purposely failed A COURSE BY GETTING A 0 ON ALL MY COURSE WORK AND THE SCHOOL WOULDNT NOT FIX THE ISSUE after calling them several times they refused to help me than they refused my financial aid for the summer I didn't know till it was over. So, they refused to give me my transcripts and even refused my private student loan to try and pay for the summer since they took away all my aid even loans, so they are not getting any more money from me. They don't care about the student.

I decided to further my education and attend this so called Christian school. I transferred from another university in hopes it would align with my religious beliefs and education. I was enrolled in March 2020 during the time Covid hit. I was unexpectedly dropped from my course and tried to get back in the course. I received a FN and have to payback 1700. The professor would not let me back in and decided not to communicate until after the drop add period. The school said my professor would have to let me back in the school. I have tried numerous to make up my work but no. This school is for the devil and I will never attend this school nor give them any of my money.

I was a Lifelong Public Educator who was Diagnosed with Terminal Bone Cancer. I was Disregarded by Liberty University's Office of Disabilities and Office of Equity and Inclusion.
    -------
I was accepted into Liberty University's School of Divinity to seek to obtain another Master's Degree in Education Ministries. Because I am disabled, due to metastatic disease, I wanted to pursue a degree in divinity as I am involved, now minimally due to my cancer, in student ministries.
After scheduling 9 credits, I completed the course check-in and realized that the affects of my stroke on my ability to retain high levels of information, my overall increased pain due to stress, and financial hardship prevented me from completing coursework and I attempted to withdrawal.
Because I completed a checklist, Liberty University claimed I participated in the course and therefore would be charged a fee. Since my withdrawal would reduce me from full time status to part time status, I would not receive the bundled rate and would be charged 25% of the part time rate, which is much higher. AND, while the original technology fee was waived, they charged me for the technology fee as well.
I contacted the BOTH the Office of Disabilities and forwarded them a 700+ page PDF of office notes and test results from my oncologist, cardiologist, thoracic care surgeon, neurologist, palliative care physician and primary care physician - they NEVER responded. I additionally contacted the Office of Equity and Inclusion and was also ignored.
Liberty University while claiming to be a Private Christian University HID behind what they claim to be FEDERAL Policy.
Daniel prophesied about the mixture of Iron and Clay, Church and State, which is clearly exemplified in this abhorrent practice of claiming to be merciful while maximizing profit at the expense of the physically disabled.

As a disabled veteran I went to LU so I can use my chapter 33 benefits. On day one I was informed by VA that my chapter 33 was not available at the time, and I would be responsible for the cost until it becomes available. Therefore, I completed a w/d because I could not afford the cost. I was going to wait until chapter 33 was available (projected to be available within 90 days). I knew I would have to pay fees and so on, to include the 25% of tuition (which by the way is fraud in my opinion to force someone to pay tuition if they w/d on day one...simply because they filled out a CHECKLIST). But, that is the price I was willing to pay just to make sure I was not enrolled without my VA Benefits.
When I w/d, the LU military affairs office (according to VA) was supposed to cancel their request for my chapter 33. When I found out they did not cancel it, the VA told me to contact LU and demand that they cancel their request since I was not authorized chapter 33 when I enrolled. LU ignored my request. LU waited until my chapter 33 was active AND THEN REQUESTED IT AGAIN knowing FULL WELL I was not enrolled at their school. THIS IS FRAUD!! I was no longer a student, and they should not be allowed to take advantage of a disabled veteran just to make a profit. They already were going to bill me for the fees for w/d, and I'm okay with that, but to frequently use my benefits like they did was wrong! The VA told me they should have canceled their request, now that they did not, there is a mark against my benefits, and it hurts my future education.
LU did this because I w/d. They are NOT military friendly. I sent several emails to managers (Christine *****, and Nikki *****) requesting a phone call in order to resolve this and they have ignored me. I tried to find the email to the President of LU (Dondi ** ******* *****) which is a retired Major General, but I was not successful in finding his contact info.
Be careful of this University. They appear to take advantage of VETS!

Liberty University is the worst college. On the first day of class I got a medical note to release me from going and they told me I still had to pay 25% of the tuition and I would get a W on my transcripts all because I went in and opened my classes online. I also wouldn't have went to Liberty University if I had of known about all the lawsuits and the honor code that students have to sign, which includes no drinking during your time at Liberty among other things. This is ridiculous and not right. This has shook my faith in Christian Universities.
